While Leon hadn’t gotten any wild Pokemon from the encounters, he wasn’t exactly mad at the outcomes. Why? Because he was more than happy to have Cooper out for the day complimenting him and his Eevee. Really, Leon liked compliments from anybody. Namely a boss like Cooper. Not that Cooper was a hard-ass, by any means, but more like Cooper was definitely the attractive sort that anybody - with two brain cells to rub together - would want a compliment from. But, this was work. Right? Right. So, focus. Interpol? That had actually gotten Leon to chuckle. Oh, but the way Cooper turned the conversation around on him had Leon sticking out his tongue. " Shut up." Honestly, Cooper had saved his ass. More times than ones. Because of the noodle-arms that Leon sported. It was one of the many things about Leon he wished he could change. Maybe, just maybe, one day, he'd be able to gain some muscle or even some weight... but no matter how many times he tried to eat his fill he just couldn't manage it. " But no, I'm not with Interpol and my 'noodles' aside, you really don't care what happens as long as the Ranch stays alive, hm?" Leon could fully understand and appreciate that. Technically Leon had virtually contact Cooper and then had to call the rancher when he got back a really jumbled message he couldn’t understand. But then again, he had half-expected a fugly backwater ranch hand or the girls with the blonde hair, freckles, and pigtails. Not... tall, dark-haired, beautifully chiseled, Ranch god, Cooper. He even kept his facial hair in alignment. Trimmed up. Shaped it. In a way, Cooper was everything Leon never expected as well. “ I thought about going to the ranches back in Kalos. None of them fit. I’d browsed them all and I didn’t like how they did things, or they weren’t the right fit; just felt, not like what I wanted. Then I spoke to you on the phone and I could feel it.” He looked around and then took a seat in the grass. Taft was in his lap, curled up and resting from the previous battles they’d had just a bit ago. Leon’s palms were flat against the ground, blonde hair swaying in the small breeze they were blessed with. He turned his head to look at Cooper with a small smile. “ There is something about this place, Cooper. Johto’s what I’ve been looking for. I can be myself here and it’s the strangest thing.” He frowned while looking away from Cooper. “Maybe I just needed the change of scenery. Maybe it could have been Kanto, or Sinnoh, or Unova.” He shrugged his shoulders. “ But for now, I’ll just believe this place has magic and try not to fudge up my chance to spend a little time soaking it up.” Cooper Armstrong |

A snort left Leon's throat and nose. Wow, unattractive... he cleard his throat and moved his hand to itch at his nose to block Cooper's view of his blush. The blush that was caused by the embarrassing noise he'd let out while not guarding himself against laughing. Though if he were being honest he wouldn't be able to guard himself against laughing around Cooper anyway. " Mm... no, no not really." Leon frowned before taking a deep breath. " I was a bit of a shit in Kalos, really. I don't know what it was..." He let out a laugh before smiling. " Maybe moving and adjusting myself just changed my opinions, or views. But I did some really shitty stuff back in Kalos." The sort of stuff that clarified most people as egotistical narcissists. He wondered, if only for a moment, what Cooper would think of him if Cooper knew. He felt, sort of like, he could tell Cooper what happened. Maybe Cooper gave off that sort of vibe like he wouldn't judge Leon. Or perhaps Leon felt comfortable around Cooper, or maybe he just didn't think Cooper would let something Leon did before judge him now. Maybe the sun was shining just right, or the planets were aligned in the right order, but Leon thought, if Cooper pried, he might tell him. Tell him something Leon had even admitted to himself. But knowing Cooper he'd just laugh and move on. |

The way Cooper gripped Leon's face had the blonde's fingers digging into the grass they sat in, narrowing his eyes, contemplating on moving away. While the motion of his face being grabbed made him cringe a little - he was not a child thank you - he enjoyed having Cooper close. Oh Arceus...Once his face was returned to him, Leon gazed at the elder man before giving one of the most bittersweet smiles he'd ever managed. " Cooper." His tone was strangely serious. " We could play truth or dare and find out?" Oh look, proof that he was definitely still a child. He wanted to tell Cooper. So badly. But courage was a thing he found in liquid form or fleeting with every moment. Right now? The only reason he was still sitting there was that Cooper was a social warmth he craved and the bitter cold of loneliness was what he would be left with if he ran away. |

If that wasn't the most intimidating thing in the whole wide region, Leon wasn't sure what would ever be. Cooper had this way about him that sometimes made Leon forget that Cooper was, in fact, like a statue. One of those god or goddess statues they put next to Arceus and the three legendary dogs... Honestly Leon thought that Cooper might hesitate for at least a second and was greatly surprised to see that Cooper hauled off his shoes with great speed. " E..Ew..." he meeped out, like a scared Mareep being cornered by Houndours. The moment Cooper made eye contact and removed his socks Leon knew something that would further help him survive to be in any sort of relationship with Cooper. Be it work, friend, or- no, no. Cooper wouldn't want that from Leon. But, back to the point. Cooper would be a challenge. " I can't believe you did that so... willy... nilly..."
