[attr="class","pwfbody"]the duo's silence became deafening to the point where eli couldn't help but break the silence with a sigh. before him, the water rippled, bubbles pushing to the service in groupings. "hmm?" he mused aloud, preoccupying himself by the subtle distraction. the weight on his shoulder lifted as the cat leaped to the ground, her back arching into a stretch that soon accompanied a half hiss, halfing yawn.[break][break]



beneath the surface of the water, a shadow was visible. small and round, elijah did his best to determine what exactly it could be. a surprise greeted him, the mix of reds and golds that broached instantly identifiable. elijah's mouth turned upwards, a pleasent smile framing his face. "well hello", he began, "i'm afraid i have nothing for you friend."

alice moved towards the waters edge with a feline like melancholy. eyes peered into the water, resting finally on the water-type. when she licked her lips, a small bit of concern rose up in eli's gut. almost playfully she extended her paw above the magikarp, the muscles in her wrist under tension beneath the fur, deadly claws extending outwards.[break][break]



"perhaps-" the professor began, hand falling from his pocket to hopelessly reach out towards the cat. "nevermind." he felt no particular joy in what happened next, but he understood. eli held no connection to the fish and instead turned his gaze upwards to the horizon again.[break][break]



the commotion didn't go entirely unnoticed by the trainer, unfortunately. he listened and heard the claws scrape scales¹and the useless flailing of the fish² as it struggled on land. all the while, alice toyed with the creature, it's hard outer skin coming off beneath surgical like cuts³. eli couldn't just allow this to happen.[break][break]



lifting his foot he pushed the water-type back into the lake. with a 'ploop' the magikarp landed back into safety. dipping under the waterline, the fish disappeared, leaving traces of blood and scales pooling towards the top. eli suspected fear became a good motivator as the water-type disappeared without a trace.⁴

alice looked at him with a look that read only 'really?' grinning devilishly, eli shrugged. 'she'll get over it,' he thought carelessly to himself. he broke their the silence of their dispute with a laugh deep from the chest. it helped.

[attr="class","pwfbody"]eli watched as alice pouted; her tail whipping back and forth in an irritated manner, tongue licking the top of her paws. typicall, elijah would try and console her feelings at times like this. but today? he wasn't having it, so to speak. he rarely, if ever, treats her with a firm hand. so today would be new.[break][break]



beneath the waters surface the dual-type lingered waiting for one of the duo to reach the waters edge. curiosity peaking it's mind... but nothing came. when it surfaced for a new look around, they weren't there.[break][break]
