Altair lead his trainer about, he paused to find a few pokemon giving them a quick look before continuing on not finding them interesting enough to actually interact with. For now Ethan trusted the cub’s judgement as this past week of attempting to learn how the Litleo thought and found the little cub enjoyed looking for a challenge. It always tried to test itself and Ethan wasn’t going to be the one to stop it from pushing. It was when the two found some large pink pokemon that the little lion roar in a challenge to the lickitung to a battle which just made enough roll his eyes. Damn thing needed to learn about sneak attacks. [break][break]

“Make this quick and start with ember,” Ethan commanded the little pokemon, he hasn’t had him long enough to teach Altair on how to take commands based of whistling alone. With the order the fire pokemon took in a deep breath and sent embers of fire at the normal pokemon. In order to counter their opponent the Lickitung used Defense curl. Smart move if this were a physical attack, Ethan would have to keep a note on avoiding those type of attacks which only left him with Leer and Ember. “Bring up the heat this time and use ember again, or do I need to call out Malik for the job?” he questioned the Litleo who quickly shook his head and did as he was told. Ethan had noticed that quickly Altair had developed a rivalry with the hound and provided good motivation to keep the lion going. [break][break]

This time when the ember hit its target the Lickitoug became burned. Ethan smiled at the fat pokemon’s annoyance before it tried to use supersonic on Altair to which he just jumped to the side, “Tackle,” was the command to which Altair complied tackling the much larger pokemon and with its burnt body it allowed Altair to roar in victory. Now on to the next pokemon.

“Decent,” Ethan complimented in his usual manner, for the past year now never being one for large compliments. And while Shay and Malik were used to this the Litleo obviously wasn’t as he pouted at the little praise given by his trainer. With a light of a cigarette and a gesture of his head Ethan signaled for Altair to continue moving forward. Still giving a pout at his trainer he did just that as he walked forward. The sun was now completely down and now the more nocturnal pokemon were starting to wake from their slumbers. With that thought in mind Ethan went for Malik’s pokeball and released him next to Altair who growled in protest. [break][break]

“Don’t complain, Malik has more experience and will likely have an advantage over some possible pokemon we might encounter,” Ethan explained, Malik giving the slightly smaller quadruped a teasing look. Malik having grown almost as much of a rivalry with the lion as Altair had with him. “None of that,” he ordered the two before he walked passed them waiting for what might come out as he relied on both of their senses to keep alter against any pokemon that would want to show up in the night. Thankfully he had done so as both animals cried out to their trainer before a think smog came from the trees. The man covered his mouth with his sleeve as he stepped back as a laugh could be heard from around them. [break][break]

“Malik,” and with his name the hound knew he was up and was the one to step forward looking around attempting to ignore the smog, though did cough a few times, “Top right,” Ethan pointed out to him noting the blue light of the pokemon that had attacked them. With a direction and a whistle from Ethan Malik used Feint Attack, appearing behind the unknown pokemon before he knocked it to the ground before his trainer. Oh he knew this pokemon, with a smirk he whistled again this time using Crunch attack on the candle pokemon, jumping away before Ethan used the safari ball in an attempt to capture it.

Ethan attached the new ghost to his belt. He now had two ghost pokemon in his party, this felt quite odd to him as this was probably the first time he’s own a ghost pokemon, let alone now having two. They weren’t Ethan’s style having been sneaky, mischievous, and over all dangerous to civilians and their trainers if they weren’t trained right. Then there was the fact that his old team was filled with mostly fighting type pokemon besides a small handful. So yeah, it felt odd that he was willing to train both the Shuppet and now this Litwick. Part of him wondered if he would ended up capturing more later on his journey for revenge.[break][break]

As Ethan was deep in his own thoughts Altair just pouted once more seeing his new trainer seeming to be happy on the new capture that MALIK caught, stupid annoying Malik thinking he was better than him. The grumbling continued for a bit before he huffed, some embers coming out of his nostrils in determination. He could take out a pokemon just as easy as the Houndour. [break][break]

With new found determination the lion pokemon ran further into the forest, calling out to his trainer to call his attention and wanting to keep moving. The growl brought Ethan out of his thoughts looking after the Litleo as it ran off. Did he just…? Damn it, he grumbled in his head as both he and Malik just followed the determined pokemon. It wasn’t a long run before both Ethan and Malik noticed the air to get a bit colder before there was a flash of fire. “That idiot already started,” Ethan grumbled obviously not pleased. [break][break]

When they arrived at the scene of the battle both Altair and some ice pokemon were already in the middle of battle. Some icicles were stabbed into the ground from an attack that Altair had been fast enough to avoid by the looks of it. With another deep breath in Altair was able to shot another ember attack at the ice cream pokemon and knocking the ice type out cold. Pun may or may not be intended. Altair looked toward its trainer hoping for approval. There was a silence for a moment before Ethan finally spoke, “You did fine, but next time you wait and listen,” he growled, normally the man would have been much colder about such disobedience however Ethan wasn’t sure if it was because it was young, or the look in Altair's eyes but something stopped him. So he choose the ‘kinder’ than his usual reaction to such lack of discipline. [break][break]

Now it was time to move on.

Altair looked down with shame on his face from the small, yet cold, words from his trainer. He was trying to show off his strength why was he being scolded? The little lion watched as Ethan moved forward to continue their search as he didn’t give him another look which put down Altair just a bit more. It was when he felt a bump next to him he was up on his guard again with a small growl, before a flash of embarrassing hit him as it was Malik who managed to make him jump. =Try not to let what the master says get to you= Malik started having had a chance to get to know Ethan with his time with him since after his original trainer was killed. =He’s harsh but its best to used his words to harden yourself than bring you down= With that said Malik chased after their trainer, Altair took only a moment to continue his words before chasing after Malik and Ethan.

By the time both Malik and Altair caught up with their trainer once more, it looks as if yet another pokemon has come from the shadows to attack their trainer. Another ghost pokemon who specializes in wanting to take its prey’s life force. A feature that had always annoyed Ethan to no end when he thought about some cases where several ghost pokemon were the problem of people becoming injured. He dodged the sword’s slashes with ease for now noting its speed and leading it into a trap. Both fire pokemon were about to jump into the battle to defend their trainer, pausing when Ethan ducked after a another slash, the sword pokemon becoming stuck as the fighter put some distance between him and the ghost who was attempting to attach itself to him.

Too slow, “Shay, Night shade,” he ordered, and with Shay’s eyes glowing a pale pink he shot out a beam of energy at his fellow ghost time, hitting it directly finally after many failed attempts from before while Altair and Malik decided to fall behind. Though now it was his turn to shine and hopefully get a good meal from it after. The shot had managed to weaken the sword Ethan grabbed another of his safari balls and threw it at the ghost hoping for success.

Smiling with the results of his capture the man picked up the safari ball as he considered what he should do with it. Keep it maybe? Though that would then bring his ghost number to three, a number he wasn’t too sure he wanted to keep on him. Oh well it didn’t matter too much. His head tilted as Altair and Malik came to him, “Now you decided to show up?” he questioned sarcastically at the two as Shay come up behind Ethan to chuckle at the two in his own little way of teasing the two on how he was so much better than they were. Both were highly unamused by the ghost as he continued to chuckle as he circled around them making Ethan slightly groan in annoyance with a hand on his head. Child, then lot of them.[break][break]

It was then that another laughter was added in with Shay’s, causing the four to look around for the source before little embers were coming up all around them, obviously the trick of another pokemon. Shuppet was the first of the three to see the one messing with them. And instantly his eyes turned to hearts at the sight of her, she looked lovely! He quickly floated up to her giving her a lovely dubby look like a child with a crush. Though it seems as if she was not amused with him as she tilted her flame at him before shooting off a fire spin at him knocking him back and not the ground. What a lady~[break][break]

Though while Shay seemed loved struck Ethan was not amused by seeing another of these candles. “Malik-“ Ethan started but quickly Shay got himself up and bounce around in front of Ethan to communicate that he wanted to take care of this. Ethan narrowed his eyes at him feeling this was out of character for him. Though when the candle pokemon sent another fire spin toward them he decided to just go with it for now. “Fine, Shadow Sneak,” he ordered as Shay’s smile just widened before he dived into the shadows, unknown to Ethan that he grabbed a little something beforehand, as one would dive into water before coming up behind her and attacking. [break][break]

Thankful for his strength and knowing that she would be weak against his attack. After knocking her down Shay took out the safari ball he took from Ethan’s belt and tossing it at her in an attempt to capture. He definitely wanted a new pretty companion in the team, the ghost pokemon obviously not caring if this was okay or not.
