"Go, go, Houndoom. Yeah. Go girl."

Unenthusiastic cheers filled the Ilex Forest as Kyle managed to find a Grass-type to pit his newly caught Pokemon against. A Cherrim shouldn't be too much of a problem at night, considering it did get a bit of a boost under the sun, but even if they were, type advantages dictated that Houndoom was the top dog for the match. There was no way Kyle could think of that the Cherrim would be able to come back from it unharmed.

The Cherrim started of by producing a miniature of a sun on its hands, releasing it so that an artificial one was shining overhead. "Oi turn that off!" A hand tried to protect Kyle's sensitive eyes, which already had adjusted to the darkness, from the sudden bright light. His Houndoom was the same and had temporarily put its eyes away from her opponent as she tried to readjust. The wild Pokemon, however, had the audacity to even change forms, thinking that she was some kind of pretty magical girl.

Petals started to swirl around it as it charged forward towards the Houndoom, who still was trying to get used to the brightness. It probably did not hurt the Fire-type one bit, but it was enough to annoy her as it happened right after the Cherrim had tried to blind her.

"Inferno!"

Boosted by the Sunny Day, scorching red flames came from the Houndoom's mouth to the Cherrim. The Grass-type tried to use a more aggressive Petal Dance, though the more it tried, the more it added fuel from the attack. With each individual burning up, the Cherrim was then swallowed whole by the Houndoom's attack. It was a clean one-hit KO, which ended with the charred Cherrim regretting its life decisions of approaching the Fire-type rather carelessly.

"That's a bit too much, don't you think?"

He could hear the Houndoom scoff under her breath as Kyle tried to stomp the last of the embers away from where the previous attack was directed. The Cherrim was still there, but since it was unconscious, Kyle figured it would be fine. Besides, the Grass-type would better thank him for this too. He was sure that the Blossom Pokemon would appreciate not having the last of the petals on its face burned off if the flames do spread out.

A Roselia peeked out of one of the numerous trees of Ilex Forest. It managed to meet Kyle's eyes for a moment, before it saw the fainted Cherrim on his feet. Only then did the rather timid Roselia suddenly turn furious. It wasn't uncommon to see wild Pokemon get aggressive when they see their friends get beaten up by trainers, though Kyle supposed that he wasn't ready for this when he was just about to lecture his Houndoom about the importance of holding back a bit.

"Can you tone down the Inferno a bit this time?" he asked, eyes trailing to the artificial sun that the Cherrim had conjured before it fell. It was still in effect after all, which mean Fire-type moves still burned hotter.

The Roselia managed to use Growth, getting its size much larger, before setting out a number of colorful leaves from its body and throwing them straight Kyle. Although the Houndoom did stare back at Kyle, it still did its Fire-type attack just the same. Releasing a vortex of flames right through the Roselia's move and towards the wild Pokemon, Kyle's Houndoom still managed to achieve an overkill, burning not only the Roselia, but also part of the shrubbery it was with.

Grumbling, he ran to where the Roselia as he took out a ball and released the Pokemon within. "Help me out on killing these," he'd ask his Arcanine. Together, they tried to contain the forest fire that his Houndoom would most likely start any minute if left unsupervised.

Kyle and his Arcanine began stomping on the few embers that clung on the vegetation from his Houndoom's previous attack. The guilty party remained to watch though, perhaps feeling no remorse or anything about the offense that she has done. That, or she was just shy. That would be cute, but Kyle already had enough Pokemon that he has to help get through their timidness that he'd rather have the former.

A Turtwig from the other side of the clearing had come to investigate the commotion, spitting out seeds at the Houndoom as soon as he got the whole story just from deductive reasoning. Who else would burn his friends and their home out of the three present if not the pyromaniac who did not want to help with clearing the fire out.

A roar from the Houndoom got Kyle to turn to his Pokemon, groaning to find out when his Pokemon started to get in another fight without his consent. Roots have already spread themselves all around the Fire-type, and with each passing moment, energy was drained from the hound and is transferred to the Turtwig. Kyle could already tell what his Houndoom's reaction to it would be.

"Wait, no!"

An Inferno swallowed the little Turtwig whole afterwards, blazing everything in between the Houndoom and the forest's resident in a matter of seconds. Kyle hurried to locate his Pokemon's Pokeball from the compartment on his waist and quickly recalled the feisty Fire-type back. The Turtwig was conscious and all, but it could barely stand afterwards. Kyle could only sigh from what his Pokemon has done.

His Arcanine came back after the previous mess was dealt with, only to be welcomed with another patch of burning grass. "I promise this is the last one," Kyle told her as he started to disappointingly stomp the rest of the embers out with his Arcanine helping him out.
