Whenever I'm blind, I open my wild eye The forest is thick and restricting with trees flushed against one another, with looming canopies that allow little light to bleed through. Ilex Forest is brimmed with potential, how its woods breath a darkness and welcome a perpetual night– she does not regret finding herself amidst it all as she treks further down dirt paths. She is quiet in her own venture, her brows furrowed in the slightest as her attention focuses on her surroundings though her mind is quick to ease when the light bleeds through the canopies more; when it reveals a tree that has fallen years ago, how the pale light offers her a small place to rest– to review notes, to expand on unspoken ideas. It does not take Ada long to find herself nestled against the old wood of the log nor does it take her long to reach for the notebooks and pens stowed away in her satchel. She is hushed, dark colored lips lightly pressed together as her fingers turn over the thin pages; all while Sixten remains restless at her heels with wide blue eyes curiously peering out into the dark. He does not move from her proximity and instead, chooses to shift his body carefully as his trainer works away in the astounding silence of the forest almost waiting for the moment he is allowed to deviate from her side– to wreak havoc on an unsuspecting victim that dares to step any closer. Despite all the lush vegetation in the area and the towering trees Ilex forest was the kind of place that Jackson actually fequented quite often. It was one of the main places he was assigned to patrol, by now he practically had most of the area memorized. Though even if he didn't he had a pretty well put together map in his bag of the forest. A map that he himself had made during his many patrols throughout the area.
At the moment the man was wearing his ranger uniform, with the exception of the hat they were given to wear. During solo patrols eh didn't really wear the hat it wasn't exactly his style anyway. On his back was a decent sized black bag that held the majority of his supplies, as well as his trusted Trapinch whose head was sticking out of the bag.
Jackson had been patrolling throughout the forest for almost two entire hours now and at this point the man was ready to take a little break. There was a specific spot in the forest that he knew of, a place where he frequently took breaks. He often sat against the old fallen tree and just relax in the company of his pokemon. in all his time in the forest and taking breaks in that certain spot Jackson honestly never saw another soul when he was at the fallen tree.
However today was definitely different from the rest, upon entering the small clearing where the fallen over tree resided Jackson was immediately greeted with the sight of someone else sitting up against his tree already. From where he entered the actual area he was straight ahead of the blue haired girl, he just assumed that at this point she already had seen him so walking away as if he never came would of just been awkward. Reaching a hand up to rub at the back of his neck for a moment he blurted out
"Sorry ma'am didn't mean to disturb you, I didn't realize someone else was here already."

Whenever I'm blind, I open my wild eye Her hand stills when the silence is broken though her blue colored eyes remain transfixed on the stark paper, the end of the pen hovering over the white surface when an unfamiliar face addresses her– polite though rushed, “Don’t call me ma’am.” Her words are brief– curt– with him though it never lulls into aggression, instead, her voice is neutral and verges on disinterested. Despite this, she does not remove her gaze from him quite yet and chooses to observe him from her reclined position; noting the subtle hues of red blending against the black of his uniform. Her eyes soon find themselves settled atop his head though her look is fleeting as her focus returns to her papers once more, “Missing your hat, Cadet?” Ada soon prods, the corner of her lips briefly upturning into a small smirk at the subtle jab towards the unknown man though her smile is quick to disperse. She does not bother to send him away despite the teasing or her curt words and allows him the opportunity to choose whether he stays– attempt to indulge in more conversation despite her general unenthused attitude. However, within their small group, there is one that expresses interest towards him and she does nothing to halt her pokemon as she feels the cold steel carapace leave her side to greet the ranger. His movements are not poised or contain when he does, instead, his head is lowered as short white legs attempt to propel hard steel towards the stranger with a semblance of force; the small Aron determined to ram against the opposing trainer though Ada makes no attempt to quell the small beast– to halt his actions. Instead, she remains perched against the wood of the log– focused on the finalization of her thoughts before she even dares to snap the book shut. The neutral tone that the woman spoke to him in cause him off guard at first. Sure it wasn't too out there for someone to not take interest in the words of a random stranger but the words that accompanied the tone mixed in a weird way to him. It seemed like the kind of thing that would only be said in either a joking manner or when actually taken offence to. However she didn't seem to really be aiming for either of those, heck it seemed more like she was spouting off a random fact then a preference.
"Oh, sorry about. Was just trying to be polite and all that junk.." He blurted out still a bit stunned at the neutral tone she had spoken in a few moments ago. It was genuinely a bit weird to hear those words in that kind of tone. Maybe he did actually offend her after all and she was just trying to down play it or something along those lines. Though it had already happened there wasn't anything he could do to change it now.
When the topic switched to her prodding about the missing hat Jackson couldn't help but laugh a little bit at her little joke. Slipping one of his hands down into his pocket he shook his head a little, smiling over at the woman who was sitting against the tree. "Nooo not exactly missing it, more along the lines of purposely lost it. Hats aren't really my style I think, plus I don;t really that hat specifically either." Despite the joking nature of how Jackson said that there was truth to his words, he chose not to wear that hat any chance that he had, he just didn't really like hats.
When you have a great head of hair you gotta flaunt it right?
Although the major thing that grabbed his attention from all of this wasn't the girl or her words, but the small Aron that was now charging at him. Some people might of just took it as the pokemon trying to attack and freaked out or struck back at it but as a ranger Jackson had seen rampaging and aggressive pokemon before and this didn't exactly seem like it. With how small the Aron was it was easy for the man to step out of the way so it'd miss him.
Once he did Jackson couldn't help but face the Aron and grin, now giving the woman a view of his back and in turn the trapinch sticking out of his bag. "Hey little guy, how ya doing~" He sort of cooed out as he looked down at the Aron with a grin on his face.

Whenever I'm blind, I open my wild eye She does not expect a laugh to bubble past his lips at her subtle teasing nor does she expect him to reach in the depths of his coat pocket to showcase the beret that was missing from his ranger ensemble, “I wasn’t aware that rangers could alter their uniform in favor of their own personal fashion– I see professionalism is lacking.” She does not hesitate with her words, but her tone lacks malice as it had before with her brief observation. It had been more of an attempt to coax him on edge, to seed out his personal defenses– whether her efforts would spur a response or not had yet to be explored, not that she really cares. Her attention soon diverts from the topic and she allows the atmosphere to grow stale between them, not quite used to the prospect of entertaining conversation– small talk nonetheless– though she fails to look uncomfortable within his presence; the happiness that seemed to bubble from was a welcomed sight despite her misleading looks. “Sixten.” Her words would soon cut through the air– blunt and firm when she addressed the aron. Her attention has yet to turn towards the two when she allows her notebook to shut with a defiant snap. Instead, she is careful with her work as she tucks delicate studies into the secure confinement of her own bag. Judging from the laughter that bubbled from the ranger, Sixten had yet to be successful with their personal endeavours; especially when she turns to witness the dirt kick up into the air as the aron slid to a stop. It seemed that the stranger was capable enough to avoid the charging steel shelled pokemon, “Enough.”Ada doesn’t quite make the effort to call the aron make to her side, instead, she allows him to stare up at the other trainer with unwavering eyes especially at the cooing– legs still fidgeting with the desire to do something. Her own attention is enraptured by the trapinch that is tucked away in the ranger’s bag and she hesitates for a moment before she reaches into the side pocket of her own bag to offer it a small treat. In a strange way for a brief moment Jackson forgot there was even a woman behind him against the tree. The little rambunctious Aron in front of him had all of his attention at this second. He wasn't necessarily trying to be rude and ignore the woman, or anything along those lines, he just thought the Aron was adorable. Although he wouldn't ignore the woman completely that'd be way too rude without any reasoning behind it, he was just literally staring at the Aron instead of her now.
Now that the Aron seemed to of calmed down he wasn't really worried about it charging at him again, despite how little that thing was Jackson knew it was pretty heavy. Getting hit by one of those wouldn't be the nice gentle tap you'd expect from a tiny pokemon. The words she spoke didn't seem to have any malice in them yet again, but they also again seemed like the kind of words you'd expect a touch of malice behind. Maybe she was just good at hiding things? Not that it mattered much, it was just a simple question at the end of the day and one he had no problem with.
"Well its just a little alteration, nothing too major. Plus since its just that dumb hat I could always try and play it off, say that I just forgot it at home or something." The man wasn't really sure why he was just admitting that out loud to a random person but it shouldn't cause any problems..right?
After thinking for a few seconds Jackson decided that it probably wouldn't be too bad to give the aron a little treat right? Luckily he kept a couple on his person during work, slipping a hand down into one of the lower pockets of his pants, an extra pocket further down his leg. After digging around for a few seconds he pulled out two little treats. He wouldn't miss them that pocket was literally full of treats.
However as he was holding the two treats out to Aron he felt his backpack wiggle around and suddenly lose about thirty pounds, which mean Gaia had hopped out of the back. Glancing back for a second he was greeted with the sight of the random woman holding a treat of her own out for his pokemon, chuckling a bit he turned his attention back to the Aron to see if it ate the treat. Assuming that the always hungry Gaia would be fine with taking the treat from the woman.

Whenever I'm blind, I open my wild eye Her hand remains still when the black colored back seems to shift once she was successful enough to capture the attention of the trapinch, fingers still loosely gripping onto the treat when she was certain that the pokemon was bound to approach her. She isn’t quite aware of its preference though based from the willingness to leave the side of the ranger, she was almost certain that the hot flavor of the treat would fail to pose a problem for the small trapinch– it was an easier feat compared to her aron. “Sixten isn’t fond of bitter treats.” He failed to be fond with most treats; a limited palette– her words were meant to be taken as a warning when her voice severs the mutual silence. However, she is unaware of the flavor the treats have and allows Sixten to chance the flavor rather than preventing the exchange between the two; the ranger wasn’t pressed on stopping his trapinch. It doesn’t take the small pokemon long to stop staring at the man and, instead, chooses to waddle curiously towards the treat; hesitating for a moment as he stands a few inches away before taking the treat. Her aron isn’t quite gentle like others of his size when he grabs hold of the unidentified treats; he’s far more rough and abrupt when he stands back with them. It’s an amusing sight to say the least, or Ada supposes that it is, as she watches him reluctantly bite into the sweet treat. “Guess you lucked out, Cadet. Doesn’t seem to like it, but he doesn't hate it.” She eventually comments, neutral was certainly better than nothing at all; it would save an unnecessary tantrum though she could only hope to say the same about the trapinch. "Does this one have a name?" As the woman's aron wiggled closer to the treats in his hand Jackson couldn't help but chuckle a bit and wiggle the hand around slightly, trying to entice it into taking the treats. Though just as soon as he did that the Aron had already snatched the food out of his outstretched hand, leaving him with an empty moving hand now. With yet another chuckle after the pokemon finished eating the treats the man reached out and gave it a quick but gentle pat on the head before turning around to face the woman yet again with the Aron next to him.
However while Aron had taken the treats right out of the man's hand, albeit with some hesitation, the Trapinch on the other hand didn't take the treat right away. Instead the Trapinch had sat down right in front of the blue haired woman and opened its mouth up wide for her to just toss the treat right inside. Trapinch wasn't really picky at all when it came to food, though it did have its favorite flavor it would happily gobble down anything. With how wide its mouth was though Trapinch didn't want to just take the treat out of her hand and risk biting it, waiting for it to be tossed in was better.
"Guess I did get lucky then huh..I just have some random flavors mixed around in that pocket so I hoped he'd like at least one of em." He blurted out as he reached a hand up to scratch at the back of his neck, smiling over at the woman for a moment. "Yeah his name's Gaia, and I'm Jackson. Its nice to meet ya."

Whenever I'm blind, I open my wild eye She hummed underneath her breath when she noticed the trapinch settle itself away from her and instead, chose to unhinge its sharp mouth for her to toss the treat in, “Here you go then, Gaia.” She nods her head towards the small trapinch, leaning a bit forward as she moved to extend her arm to gently toss the fiery treat in its mouth as subtly suggested. Ada would soon move away from the ground type, her back pressing against the old wood of the log. Her head soon turns to face Jackson, her eyes settling on him for just a moment as she peered up at him from the forest floor, “You plan on standing around here all day, Jackson?” Ada motions a hand towards him before nodding her head towards the the fallen tree she was nestled against. While his unexpected arrival to the clearing was cause for some annoyance, she had no interest in being rude to him for now at least. It doesn’t take long for her to glance at him again, “Here’s to hoping you connected the pieces already, Cadet.” She manages, her hand extending towards the small aron that seemed a bit preoccupied with the two treats the ranger had given him moments ago, “That would be Sixten, he can be a little hectic at times though I’m sure you’re familiar with personalities like that.” Her explanation is brief, the tone in her voice almost uncaring as she introduced her partner. Ada would soon place a hand onto her chest when she turns the attention onto herself, light colored eyes briefly locking with Jackson’s, “As for me? You can call me Ada.” [googlefont=Alegreya Sans SC:400] [newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:9px;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-family:verdana;margin-top:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:9px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass]
