Birds. While he liked quite a few of them, some of them were on his ‘to search for’ list; and one of them happened to be Skarmory. The thing was that back home in Hoenn, Lars had amassed quite a number of Flying-types—mostly because for different situations whenever they came up. Of course, Flygon was the wildcard surprise in the bunch (as he wasn’t expecting Trapinch to evolve from those) but he was here for something else—well, several something elses. The problem was, he was also bound to run into some other types (as he was rather surprised to have encountered Ghost-types in a place where he knew only Normal-types were found) so he had to be prepared for anything. Of course, he still had some members of his preferred team accompanying him. There were three new faces on the team that he was hoping to get some exercise with, along with Suijin overseeing the whole shebang. He’d taken a short hike out of Violet and was back at the same place he’d encountered his Gastly—so far, thankfully, nothing too insane had happened. At least not yet. Maybe it’s a good idea I didn’t bring him along. Everyone else needs some training, and I want them all to be on even footing, at least… he thought to himself as he then sat down against an overturned rock before looking out at the route and wondering who or what he’d come across this fine day. Sprider would take out his machop out of his pokeball and say “You have not practiced much in the past few days, have you? I have made a challenge just for you.” The little pokemon nodded its head, waiting for instructions from his master. Sprider wore his helmet and said “Race me!” And started cycling his bicycle. The machop looked so done. Sprider was making him work on his speed by making him chase sprider. Wow, the Pokemon must be thinking. Sprider looked back to see the machop accelerating towards him. Sprider was actually riding his bicycle slowly but as he saw the Machop catching up, he would increase the pace. It was the best challenge according to him. Not because he could seat the whole time, but his thighs could do work while at the same time his machop would increase his speed. Oh boy, the fun he was having. He would give his machop breaks in between but the fun of seeing his pokemon catching up to him only to be left behind as Sprider paced his cycle. The machoo would surely have registered it as pokemon abuse if he did not respect Sprider's decision. The machop roared in anger and took one last sprint. Compared to the before sprints, this was one was his best and finest. Sprider stopped as he reached near the bicycle. Sprider removed his gear and said “That was a good work boy. Now off to fighting!” The machop roared. No matter what time it was, if someone mentioned fighting to him, he would jump like a small baby, full of energy and enthusiasm. Sprider made him sit on the back of his seat and they reached Route 12. Sprider was not paying attention to the road. It was his machop who screamed and made Sprider recognize that there was a person in front of them. Sprider removed his gear and taking machop off the bicycle said “I am sorry. I was not paying attention..” his voice trailing off as he looked at the person. It looked like they had seen each other before. Tag = Lars Anderson |

Here he was enjoying the peace and quiet—at least until something very nearly collided into him. Blinking for a few moments, he then stared at the Fighting-type that had thankfully saved them from a potentially awkward situation—and it wasn’t until much later did Lars realize that he’d met the other somewhere previously. Had it really been a long time since he’d seen the other one?“Hey, weren’t you the one in the Ice Path—“ he began to say, before moving blurs caught his attention. One of them looked like a really heavy snowflake, and he knew he had just the one who could take care of this particular Pokémon. Plucking a Pokéball, he then tossed it forward and watched as his Marshtomp landed on the grass not too far from where they stood. “Take care of that for me, will you?” he said to Suijin, who then began flexing its fins before turning its attention on the Bronzor, who’d opened the fight with a Confusion attack. “Whoa, careful out there, Sui!” he called out, watching as his dual-type then called forward an avalanche of boulders, catching the Bronzor by surprise. Although, he was a bit surprised as the Rock Slide attack didn’t seem to harm the other dual-type so much. It wasn’t until he’d pointed his Pokédex at the thing and read the information off it did he realize that Rock-type attacks didn’t work too well against them. The Bronzor then came charging forward in a Tackle attack, to which Lars shouted, “Block it with a Whirlpool!” and watched as the Marshtomp then jumped backwards before releasing the spinning vortexes of water, trapping the Bronzor within it. Now that it had been repelled for the moment, the Marshtomp then backed away, before taking a deep breath and blasting the vortex of water with a Hydro Pump attack. The other dual-type was then forced backward, before it released a sinister ray of light. “Turn away!” Lars called out, and the Suijin hid its head under its fins as the Confuse Ray attack flared around the Marshtomp—thankfully the other had protected his field of vision in time. While the flash of light had sailed over its head, it eventually petered out before the Marshtomp then shook his head. “Alright, let’s get going… Muddy Water!” he added a few moments later. The dual-type then slapped its fins to the ground and summoned up a tidal wave of murky brown water, washing over the Bronzor; which then crashed to the ground before being swept up and away from where they stood. Now that the battle proper was done, he then turned to the other, before coughing slightly. “So, yes. How have you been?” he asked the other. MADE BY ★MEULK |

The other person said “Hey, weren't you the one in Ice Path.” And stopped because of pokemon interventions. Sprider said “yay” as he remembered he was the one who told him about ice path having fire pokemon. He shook his head and said “Machop! Fight that flying pokemon” the little machop nodded its head and lookrd at the yellow bug with blue stripes and can fly with its small wings. He also scanned the pokemon. It said “Dunsparce, the land snake pokemon. Its tail is similar to a drill and can be used to burrow into the grounds. It is known to making nest in complex shapes under the ground.” Sprider said, “ that is some cool information, but my team is already full!” He shouted commands at his pokemon “Use karate Chop at the bug. If it tries to dodge then counter by low kick. The machop flexed his hands and started running towards it. The small bug swiftly manuevered its body out of machop's way. Sprider said “counter now.” The machop kicked it but the dunsparce was too quick. Sprider said “Focus your energy and end it.” the little machop closed his eyes and Concentrated on his ki. The dunsparce used screech at machop. It tried ro use Rage but the machop was silent. It did not attack and hence the dunsparce move failed. Machop's eyes fluttered open and glew. Sprider shouted “now”. Machop suddenly moves do fast that even dunsparce could not move away from the trajectory of his punch. The punch hit the dunsparce and it flew away. It hit a tree at the back and fell on the ground, unconscious. Sprider said “I am fine. What about you?” When he was asked in how he had been. Sprider used his pokeball to call back machop into it. Machop's turn was done. Then it was time for some else pokenon. Maybe the turtwig. TAg= Lars Anderson |

“I’ve been really busy looking for certain Pokémon, and it looks like I’m going to be hanging out on this route for quite a while, since this is one of the few places where Steel-types appear,” he began, before remembering to introduce himself. “Oh, didn’t I introduce myself the last time we met? If I did I’m sorry about that. My name’s Lars, and—“ he continued before the sound of…fluttering wings caught his attention. “Wait, what? How’d that end up here?” he asked out loud, looking at the Flying-type, recognizing the Taillow on sight. “If you still have your Charmander companion, you can take care of its companion,” he continued a few moments later as he quickly recalled his Marshtomp, before sending out his little spitfire of an Elekid. The Taillow, seeing the Electric-type, then began with a Focus Energy, preparing himself for what was going to hit him like a train. “Alright, let’s start this with a Thunder Wave! Cut ‘em off before it starts flying and makes it hard for you,” he began, and the Elekid then released some excess electricity first from its prongs before eventually releasing a proper jolt of electricity at the incoming Taillow, who’d charged forward with a Quick Attack. As the Thunder Wave encircled the Flying-type, the attack ground to a halt, before the Taillow tried to shake off the numbness that was spreading throughout its small body. Finding that he could still move, he then proceeded to come in close with a Peck attack—only for the Elekid to swing one of his fists in its face! “No, Low Kick isn’t going to work! Let’s stick with Electro Ball! That works better, right?” he added a few moments later; before the Flying-type had a few moments to process that there was a large crackling ball of electricity slamming into his face. Oww. Letting out a horrified squawking noise, the Taillow then backed away for a few moments, before using Quick Attack to close the distance once again and throwing his power into the attack. While the Elekid had been forced back a few steps, the Electric-type then looked at his companion, before he spoke up again, “Use your Electro Ball and chase him away!”Now that he had actual permission to start firing off the balls of crackling electrical energy, the Elekid then began swinging his arms together and firing off the orbs of crackling electricity. While it wasn’t as fast as he would’ve wanted it, Lars watched as the Taillow tried to Peck the Elekid again, but instead got several balls of exploding electricity to the face. The Taillow then tried to take off but couldn’t, due to the effects of Paralysis. Several more Electro Ball attempts later, the Flying-type had been driven back and out of where it had come from. He called himself Lars. Sprider did remember that they met on the frozen ice path but never exchanged names. Sprider said “I am Sprider.” And then came a bird flying at them. It was a pokemon that Lars took on. He advised Sprider to use his fiery salamander to fight off the magnetic type. Looking at it, Sprider said “I think i have seen that. It is called a magma mite? Or wait, was it magnemite. Yes it was magnemite.” He need not take out his pokedex this time. He had no pokemon out and wished to take out the turtwig. He pulled out a pokeball out of the pokedex and said “Come out little turtle twig.” A green colored turtle came out of the ball. Sprider said “Come on boy! Let us do it.” He wished to evolve his turtle. He would say “Use Giga Drain turtwig!” The flying piece of magnet was a quick one. It did not stick to a specific place in air. It always moved around and easily evaded Turtwig's moved. The magnetic pokemon sent a wave of thunder towards Turtwig to which Sprider shouted “Evade it” it was either late command from Sprider or slow reaction of turtwig because he fot it by it and was knocked back a few meters. Sprider said “Get up boy. Show us what you are made of. You can do it. Try tackling it down and then drain using giga drain.” The turtle would shake his head and do so. It would leap in the air and before magnemite could use a bomb like move, Sprider's turtwig would tackle it down. Once down it would use giga drain. A critical hit. The magnetite would faint due to so much attacks at once and also the health absorbed from it. Tag = Lars Anderson |

They weren’t even out of the chaos yet. Lars looked up the moment he heard a very distinct mooing noise, and gaped for a few moments before pulling out his own Pokédex and reading the information that flashed across its screen. While one of them he recognized as a native to his home region, the other one was a bit of a surprise. “Alright, let’s take on the cow! Now you can try your Low Kick attack!” he began, and after so long, the pent-up Elekid finally got the chance to charge forward and sweep the Miltank off its two feet and send the Normal-type crashing flat on its butt on the ground. The Normal-type let out a braying noise of surprise as it suddenly felt its legs getting swept out from underneath where it was walking. Once the Miltank had recovered, the Normal-type then threw a Zen Headbutt at the Elekid, which literally punted the Electric-type out of the way and soaring into the air! “Whoa!” Lars shouted as he quickly made to catch the Elekid—before the Electric-type then fired off a mid-air Electro Ball before he’d eventually landed in Lars’ hold. “Whew,” he muttered, before the Elekid quickly jumped out of his hold and fired off a second Electro Ball at the incoming Miltank, who’d closed the distance and was about to use Stomp before a sudden jolt of electricity was launched from the prong-like protrusions on the Elekid’s head. The Thunder Wave may have caught the bovine Pokémon off-guard for a few moments, but the Stomp had still landed—on the ground very close to where the Elekid had been standing a few moments ago. “That was close,” Lars said, whistling. “Feel free to let it all out! You know, use the attack I never let you make use of! Low Kick!” he called a few moments later, and the Elekid then attempted another sweeping maneuver in order to knock the Miltank off its feet once again. Unfortunately for the cow Pokémon, the Low Kick attack hit more painfully than it should’ve, and had caused the Normal-type to end up sprawled on its back afterwards. “What’re you waiting for? If you can roll it down and out of here, do it!” he said, and the Elekid then swung into action, swinging away at the Miltank with Low Kick, after Low Kick. Another loud, braying noise rumbled from the displeased Miltank, before it eventually stood up and rolled off into another part of the path. MADE BY ★MEULK |

Were they out of good luck? It certainly looked like it. There were another pair of pokemon appearing out of nowhere to unsettle them. Sprider did his usual pokedex thing on the pokemon which lied lazily on the ground. The pokedex used its red laser to scan the pokemon. Once the process was complete, the pokedex voiced out “Slakoth, the Slacker Pokemon. The only pokemon which sleeps all its day and is still tired the next day. Be ware, do not try to watch it sleeping or else you will be caught in its magic and fall asleep in the blink of an eye.” Sprider closed his eyes and his pokedex. The slakoth was not sleeping, because ut was there in front of him ready to fight, still he was a bit scared by the fact he learned from the pokedex. He asked “Turtwig, you there?” The little grassy pokemon only nodded his head. Sprider was not reassured. He asked again “Turtwig, are you there?” The pokemon opened his mouth to cry “Turt… wig..” that did reassure him. He said “Okay then boi! I do not know what is going to happen because i am trying to keep my eyes shut closed. Use Tackle and on it and if it tries to evade, try it again. Once it is hit by tackle, use giga drain without wasting time. “ The turtwig knew exactly what his master wanted. It nodded its head and cried again. Then it went straight towards the slakoth. The slakoth intended to use slash while the turtwig tackled it. Both of the moves turned into a stalemate as both were thrown back a meter. Sprider did not see anything but felt the strong wind that emerged from the clash. Sprider shouted “Go at it! Use tackle and evade any atack to complete the combination with Giga Drain.” The turtwig nodded its head and being faster than the slakoth, used tackle. The slakoth was thrown a meter back. It used Counter. It hit back turtwig with twice the physical power. Sprider could hear the smack. Sprider shouted “Now!” As his turtwig stood up. It had a long way to go and it would not be stopped by such an attack. It collected energy in its mouth and then shoot it towards the slakoth. The attack created a large smoke. When the smoke dispersed, the slakoth was seen lying, knocked out. Sprider opened his eyes after hearing the impact. He was happy to see his pokemon fine. Tag = Lars Anderson |

“And I thought the madness was over—“ he began, before catching sight of the next incoming wave of Pokémon and then doing a double-take— wait a second, wasn’t that one similar to the one he’d met earlier?It wasn’t until he’d taken out his Pokédex and remembered that there was a certain someone who’d been looking for this particular Pokémon for the longest time did he decide that he’d actually make someone’s day. Whistling a few times, he then pointed at the Dunsparce, before the Elekid looked in his direction. “Well, what’re you waiting for? You can take on that one, right? But don’t overdo it, I’ll be catching it for someone!” he began, and the Electric-type rushed forward, releasing some excess electricity from its prongs. Right then and there the Dunsparce then let out an ear-splitting Screech, which caught both Lars and the Elekid off-hand. While the Electric-type was stunned for a few moments due to the sudden noise, the Normal-type then came dashing forward and began unleashing its Rage on the Electric-type. It didn’t take too long for his Elekid’s Static to kick in, catching the Normal-type mid- Rage attack. Blinking in surprise, Lars then pulled himself back to the present, before nodding at the Elekid, who’d turned around and looked at him for some guidance. “Do it. I know you’ve been itching to actually do it. Get your Low Kick fix on it!” and that was all the Elekid needed before it began to use Low Kick as fast as his stubby little legs could manage. As the Normal-type tried to back away from the suddenly-aggressive Electric-type, it then countered with a Spite technique, and while that didn’t frighten the Electric-type, the attacks it was launching did seem to slow down. “What’s the matter?” he asked the Elekid, who’d turned around again before the Dunsparce began to Rage out on its opponent once more. “Get your head back in the game, it’s kicking your ass!” he added a few moments later, before the Elekid quickly launched an Electro Ball right in the Normal-type’s face just as it continued to go on its Rage-induced tirade, never mind that a sudden exploding ball of electric energy caught it mid-attack. The Elekid then began to alternate between Low Kick and Electro Ball, just to spite out the Dunsparce, while it continued to Rage at the Electric-type. A particularly well-timed Low Kick to the Dunsparce’s face sent it flying backwards, before it charged forward again and attempted a Pursuit attack—which did work, somewhat. Although its face met with another exploding Electro Ball in the face, before it was sent flying backwards again and this time smacking up against a rock. “Ow, that’s got to hurt,” Lars muttered as he pulled out a blank Pokéball and tossed it at the Dunsparce, watching as the containment unit bonked it hard across the head and sucked it up in a flash of red light… MADE BY ★MEULK |
