Steven was in Route Forty-Eight for completely different reasons than he would normally be in an area. Normally he was in an area to scout it out before recording for a documentary, or actually recording a documentary on the day he showed up. He was not here for any kind of job, or task, either. Today was simply for his own personal interests. For the longest time, no one had thought to classify any Pokemon as a 'fairy' type and it had not even been a thing when he was young. It had happened a few years back, and now that it was an official classification he was out here on this very route to try and catch one to add to his own team that would travel with him on his adventures.
So far there had been no luck in finding one that had been classified as such, but Steven was not going to give up on this until he left this place with one. It did not matter which Pokemon it was, all that mattered was catching one. Whether it was a Clefairy, a Jigglypuff, or even Snubbull he would not care. So long as it was one of the newer classifications he would be happy to train and raise the pokemon he managed to catch here and now. He had shown up around the early hours and now it was midday. Any moment now he would catch a lucky break, or maybe someone else would show up to allow him to pass the time with some conversation about anything anyone else that was here wanted to hold. "Come on out guys, no need to be afraid of the professor. I just want to catch one of you to take back and raise so I can bring you on a region-wide adventure" He was just mumbling to himself, boredom causing him to do it verbally instead of mentally, thinking that there would be absolutely no one showing up at the time.

"I wonder how the safari zone warden feels about slowpoke tails."
Scarlet pondered as she made the hike along the mountainous path towards the safari zone along route 47. It was a good work out, but the sun of midday beating down on her pale skin left much to be desired for her complexion. She had a hood on, but still she didn't enjoy any form of heat, she prefers the cold over almost any kind of weather, then again she was a bit of a homebody and only ventured so far from her home on trips like this, to get people to sample the, completely legal, family trade. Tarp over the large fridge on her back, Scarlet was luck that she didn't run into any trouble, or comet tried to break out of her pokeball to demand attention. That Eevee could seriously be a pain, especially because she thought the entire world revolved around her, and her alone. Scarlet sometimes wished she had a different pokemon, but she just couldn't trade comet away, even if she got frustrated with her, she was family, an arrogant egotistical little family member but family none the less.
As Scarlet approached the bridges and green pastures of route 48, she could feel the wildlife all around her, and it filled her heart with a bit of joy. As much as she loved to be lazy at home, these types of adventures were nice in their own regards, especially since she could see all nature had to offer. One day, Scarlet might get to see the true potential of pokemon come out before her eyes, but for now, she was just a girl working for her dad's business and trying to keep food on the table... well more exquisite food that is. As the relaxing breeze helped cure her of the heating issue Scarlet saw, among other things, a man standing essentially in the middle of nowhere, looking rather flustered. Scarlet was never one to pry, she had her own secrets after all, but it didn't feel neighborly to not at least say hi, so that's exactly what she would do in this situation!
"Hi!"
A bit of a happy tone in her voice, though in reality, she was a little bit worried he was going to end up being a creep, but if you don't try and be kind then why should you ever expect anyone else to be kind?

Steven was on the verge of giving up. It was so quiet today, no people in sight, and he had still yet to find any fairy types while wandering the area they were most likely to be spotted at. The Professor was about to send out both of his Pokemon to give him company, for the time being, and help him in his search when he suddenly heard a feminine voice say 'hi' from somewhere else. Looking up and around, he would eventually see the female that had said the small friendly greeting to him. She seemed young, at least compared to him, and was shorter than he was. The hooded girl was carrying something on her back, on closer look being a large refrigeration unit that was covered up in a tarp. It was not something too odd to see throughout the world, people still had to travel and carry goods that needed to remain chilled.
"Why hello! Good to see another person out here today. My name is Steven Willows, a Professor from the very region we are both in, and I'm just out here looking to catch a fairy type pokemon. If you want to stay and chat I wouldn't mind the company, but with that fridge I don't blame you if you simply want to carry on with your day. I can always just send out my Pokemon to keep me company." Either way Steven had figured out a way to keep himself from going crazy out here. He had not expected this little task to be so time-consuming to complete. If the next hour was not fruitful he would have to sit down and lay out the miniature picnic that he had brought along in a backpack, a backpack that was hanging on his back.
