Victor was far more of a sassy jackass than Natalia had initially given him credit for. Oh well. What the hell, right? Natalia slid off of his lap and straightened herself out, making sure she could get to her concealed Pokeballs as fast as possible if necessary. She'd taken along one of her best trained, just in case. Oh, that fluffy Arc. "I had an actual idea, thank you." She reminded him, having tugged on a bit of his hair just to get her point across. "But, by all means, go on then. Make a show of yourself, get yourself killed."With that sass displayed, she took his scotch and downed the rest of it with a smile. "Be. My. Guest."

" tch." it's about time. victor can finally compose himself, shuffling in place to remedy the uncomfortable ailment she's inflicted. steeling his nerves is child's play in comparison. danger? that what he's used to, practiced for. hazards can only mean so much to someone sentenced to imprisonment for life. it takes a good moment for victor to mentally prepare himself. now she's off of him, he turns his attention to the casino's general layout. several minutes are spent watching each person's movements, activities, and general field of vision, trying to surmise who's an employee, and which pose any threat. and then he just ups and does it. at first, he keeps a casual, normal pace, leaving the bar at what he deems a natural pace. he even pulls out a single chip, habitually toying with it between his fingers, as if thinking of what game he should play. nothing too bizarre, not enough to warrant any attention. at least until he starts looking over a set of different slot machines. that's when their stake out proves fruitful. victor finds a certain poster plastered on the wall and uncovers it to push a hidden button underneath. and that's when he mentally says fuck it and makes a mad, albeit short, dash for the back.

Watching Victor work was possibly one of the most enjoyable things to witness. Victor was so in his element like this. If Natalia were being honest with herself, she'd admit to herself that it was attractive. Alas, Natalia was on the clock, not her own personal time, and she'd think him attractive later. Probably while in the tub. But, for now? She got up out of her seat and tapped the edge of the bar to pay the tab. "Keep visual and tag close behind, Hynes. You can't let him on too long a leash."It amazed Natalia how they seemed to think that Victor couldn't hear over the same wire as her. She moved with him across the slots and when his frame moved out of her sight to the poster, she shifted her weight in her seat to peek around and keep an eye on him. The moment she made a dash for it, Natalia's heart sank. "Fuck!" Her curse wasn't very ladylike aside from the fact that she'd whispered it. "I'm gonna kill him."Natalia found herself 'accidentally' spilling her drink on the slots machine and causing it to fritz so that hopefully he wouldn't be noticed going through the back. The machine sparked and flared and smoked. She jumped back and let out some sort of awful noise. Maintenance was there in a flash, checking the machine over. She apologized a few times, stumbled a few more, then made her way over to lean on the wall next to the poster. She pressed the button that she'd found there and while eyes were preoccupied watching the commotion she'd caused over by the machines, she followed him into the back.

well, he did say barge in, right? and that's what he did, down to the tee. once he exited the casino's main line of sight, he let loose, ready to tangle with any opposition in his way. wariness was left for what was in front of him, in case someone on the main floor reporting them, or generally stumbling across someone working in the back. the hallways that separates the main floor room from the rest of the building is a long, narrow corridor, with several doors along its length. and, at this point, victor realizes he has no idea what he's doing. that's as far as they ever got. where now? which room? did he already pass it? fuck if he knew. he just kept running under the assumption that the most dangerous had to be the furthest from the public. he had yet to run into anyone, so he hadn't passed anything important, right? who knows. eventually, he does run into someone, causing them to look at him stupefied for a moment before putting one and one together. it's a middle aged man, dressed in the casino's standard uniform, and taken down in a single strike. seemingly harmless, victor doesn't spare the man a chance. the mild wrinkles and declining hairline doesn't garner any sympathy. even if it was just an innocent worker, victor can't spare the chance. so, he delivers a brutal blow to his stomach as he passes, leaving the man collapsed, clutching his chest as he heaves for his next breathe. time is of the essence, and victor figures natalia can clean him up if he tries to alert anyone. but, for now, the man lays crumpled behind him, disappearing in the distance.
