Bosco had been walking down the path for some time. He had heard the rumors of the powerful and rare pokemon that could be found around this lake, plus... Well, Dilla needed some time out, some time to go swimming and play around in the waters. The big jaw pokemon was next to him, dancing around him as he ran about, diving through bushes trying to stir up pokemon to battle or to simple see fly off for the humor of it. Every time Bosco reached Dilla, he would rub his head for a moment before continuing to walk. While Bosco wasn't personally looking for a battle, it was bound to happen eventually. When Bosco reached the water's edge, he would sit down on a large stone, smiling a bit as he watched the small pokemon as he danced around. At first, he would run up to the edge of the water, put a foot in, shake his head, and then run back out of it. It was like he was trying to decide the perfect moment to get into the water. It was no different than the water by his home, but the pokemon was oddly fickle when it came to getting to the water some times. Bosco simply chuckled when the pokemon decided to climb up on a short rock, take a quick run, and then dive head first into the water. The resulting splash of water was loud and sent water everywhere, but it didn't matter. “Having fun there Dilla?” He called out, seeing the pokemon swimming on his back for a short distance before rolling over, and nearly becoming invisible in the water. Bosco would have lost track of him if it wasn't for the displacement waves of the pokemon swimming. “Careful out there little guy, don't want you to get lost or hurt!” He called out, smiling a bit.  Mirai's agenda for the day was to better understand and improve her Pokemon appeals. She had the theory down pat but it always helps to have actual references. For her trusty partner Buizel, she figured a watery environment would definitely work best so she planned for them to have little lakeside photo shoot at the famous Lake of Rage. Why there? Well, she had long been curious about the legends regarding the lake and the supposed Gyardos that live there so she figured she would kill two birds with one stone. It would probably make quite the memorable action shot too if she managed to get a picture of Buizel in battle with one. She wasn't getting her hopes too high up but it would be nice if it happened. As they walked along the lake's edge, Mirai already started snapping a few photos of Buizel frolicking about. This was their first time here so the ever curious Sea Weasel Pokemon was on high alert checking everything out as they strolled along. Once they had reached a more open place, Buizel focused her "investigations" in the water itself, going in for a dip and popping her head out ever so often to check on Mirai. The weather was great and the water was pretty clear so as long as Buizel didn't stray too far out, her trainer's camera was able to take beautiful shots of her beneath the surface. Moving further ahead Mirai spotted another trainer and Pokemon pair near the water's edge. Buizel was quick to notice them too. There wasn't anyone else around so they probably saw Mirai as well. She gave them a friendly wave as she walked on over to say hello. |

Bosco saw the young woman, raising up his hand to wave back at her and motion her closer to him. "Hi there! If you need me or Dilla out of the way of your shots. I don't want you to get back pictures because of my scruffy nature." He called out, teasing himself a little bit as he looked at her. She was young, a lot like Ashley was as well. It made him smile to see so many young trainers, and so many people so full of life out there who are living their dreams every day. It was something that was indeed very wonderful. “I'm Bosco by the way. Dilla is my totodile who is... Currently... Hmmm...” He said, standing up and seeing the water churning. “Apparently getting into trouble.”
Under the water however, it was clear that something else was going on. Totodile was, at least in his mind, in a life or death struggle with a “massive” remoraid! The monster was nearly as big as he was, and it was striking at him with water gun! Though, he being a water type didn't exactly feel with the same power that the other pokemon was probably hoping. Dilla rushed in, opening his jaws wide and biting down hard upon the pokemon with a single bite attack. The pokemon both thrashed around underwater, causing quite the stir on the surface. It fired off with a strong psybeam, knocking the pokemon away from itself and making Dilla shake his head to clear it.
Now that Dilla was angry, there was no stopping it. Rushing in once more, it was hit again with the water gun, but it only served to fuel the pokemon as it gave into it's rage! Slashing around wildly, it would swing it's tiny claws and clamp down with it's maw over and over again, eventually tossing away the pokemon that dared to attack it! Totodile had won this battle, victory was indeed his on this day. It would forever be a day of legends... At least in Dilla's mind.

As Mirai drew closer, she was finally able to make out the appearance of the other lakeside visitor. It was an older boy, probably in his late teens or early twenties. Her first impression of him was that he was quite humble and considerate, offering to stay out of the way of her shoot, citing that he looked scruffy. She chuckled softly at this. She didn't really want to think of it that way but he was right in the sense that he probably wouldn't be winning any awards for style.
"I appreciate the thought, but there's plenty of lakeside for the both of us. I don't think it's a bother at all. In fact it lifted my spirits a bit to see that there are others up and about having fun here today."She quickly snapped a photo of the young man and smiled. "Sometimes natural photos just look better than trying too hard to make things pretty and perfect. I'm Mirai by the way, and this is my reliable partner, Buizel-kun. It's nice to meet you Bosco."Buizel hopped out of the water with a graceful flip and bowed after nailing her landing. Mirai snapped a photo of that moment too. It was nice to have subjects she could count on for her reference materials. Bosco was going to introduce his partner as well but noticed that he might have been in trouble. Mirai looked out at the lake and saw the bubbles and thrashing just below the water's surface. Something was going on there and so she gestured to her Buizel to check it out, her partner gladly obliging. As the Sea Weasel Pokemon dived in however, it suddenly came face to face with a Magikarp that was randomly swimming in its path and almost crashed into it. Buizel looked like it was trying to apologize but the fish Pokemon looked ticked. Mirai could just barely make all this out as they weren't too far from the shore yet. Buizel backed up for a bit to the surface as the angry Magikarp tried to charge at it with a Tackle, causing Mirai to call out to her. "I guess it can't be helped Buizel-kun! Knock it out with Swift and then go see if Dilla needs any help!"Dodging another "slow" Tackle, it soon became quite clear that the angry Magikarp was actually out of its league, and Buizel was slightly hesitant to be a bully. Orders were orders though and the Sea Weasel Pokemon let loose a barrage of stars that all met their mark and knocked the fish Pokemon out in one attack. Buizel would then proceed to rush to where Dilla was, waving and gesturing that it was a friend, but by the time she got there, the Totodile's own battle was pretty much over too. |

Dilla came out of the water not far away, his rage having ended for the moment. It was such an empowering move. He waddled back up towards Bosco and sat down, taking a deep breath and then looking back up at his trainer. While he wasn't exhausted, he was worn out a little after using such a powerful set of moves. Bosco rubbed his head and looked at the girl. She had helped some after all with the defeat of the other pokemon. It seemed Totodile was getting oddly aggressive and antsy in his own way. Perhaps it was indeed getting close to that time for him.
“Thanks for the assist. And it's a pleasure to meet you both.” He said, bowing his head for a moment. “Give Dilla a few moments, and he will probably come over there and do a little dance for you. He seems hell bent on making every woman I have come across happy. Still, he a good partner.” He said, smiling a bit more. “So what brings you out this far? Aside from going hunting for amazing places to take pictures?”
It did indeed only take a few moments for the pokemon to catch his breath and relax before he was on his feet, as energetic as can be. He would wonder over to her, dance for a moment, and then see her Sea Weasel. His eyes would go wide and he would hop and walk over to the other pokemon, making sounds before dancing around it and making a laugh-like noise. Bosco smiled a bit more at the small pokemon before his eyes opened a bit wider.
“Dilla, left, water gun!” He called out, the pokemon didn't even hesitate, turning it's head and firing out the water gun at the charging Psyduck. Bosco blinked for a moment as he stood up. “Odd, psyducks are usually pretty docile. This one must have a nest or a mate near by.” He said, hopping from the rock. “Excuse me a moment, though it appears all this ruckus has attracted another friend as well.” He said, pointing towards the poliwag that had surfaced near by as well.
Totodile, on the other hand, while he was going to listen to his boss, was NOT taking kindly to this intrusion. The water gun had done nothing but slow the Psyduck down. Bosco called out the command of bite, the faster pokemon rushed the slower psyduck, latching on with all the bite force it could, before shaking it's head and throwing the other pokemon into the air. Another command was called out, and Dilla loved this one. As odd as it sounded, the ability to let himself go and rage like there was no tomorrow was one that he clearly enjoyed a lot. Once the command was given, Dilla rushed in, swinging wildly, taking any hits that Psyduck threw it's way... And when it was all said and done, the duck pokemon was knocked out.
Bosco moved over to his pokemon's side, sighing a bit and shaking his head as he sprayed on the potion to heal some of it's injuries. “You are getting reckless. A little too reckless my friend.”

Bosco's Totodile was a funny little Pokemon with an interesting personality. One moment it looked friendly and happy. The next moment it was aggressive and reckless. Buizel wasn't as enthusiastic but it did entertain Dilla's dancing, even attempting to join it for a bit as Mirai looked on and snapped a few more photos with her camera.
"I came to Johto to try my hand at being a Pokemon Coordinator and today I was looking for references on making Pokemon appeals. The Contest season is coming up soon you see and I intend to participate. For Buizel-kun in particular, I was hoping to get some great shots and material by having her frolic about in a watery environment. And since I had never been to Lake of Rage before, I figured this was a good chance to tour the scenery and get some inspiration for my Contest routines at the same time."Their conversation was interrupted by the appearance of a certain aggressive Pokemon which Bosco proceeded to engage with his Totodile. He directed Mirai's attention to another emerging from the water and also looking for a battle. Buizel immediately walked over to Mirai's side but she gestured to the Sea Weasel Pokemon to take a rest for now. After all she had other members of her team who could use some exercise. "Gastly-kun, your assistance please!"Gastly emerged from her Pokeball and winced slightly after seeing it was quite bright outside. The Gas Pokemon did have a preference for darker environments, but she ought to adjust soon enough. Her eyes focused on the opponent before her, a Poliwag. Mirai had never battled a Poliwag before but from what knowledge she had of them, they were tricky opponents especially with the ability to use Hypnosis. That was why she called on her own Hypnosis specialist to deal with it. Either way there was no reason not to be cautious so she trusted Gastly to take care of it with her usual tricks. "Gastly-kun Dark Pulse!"Gastly flew up high above the Poliwag, taking advantage of the bright sunlight to hinder its vision if it tried to look up. From there, once the sun momentarily blinded the tadpole Pokemon, Gastly would blast it with its powerful Dark Pulse, almost knocking it back to the water. The wild Pokemon ended up dazed and flinched from taking that hit. It looked like it was much weaker than Gastly too. This shouldn't take long. "Careful Gastly-kun. We don't want it to get to the water where it's advantageous to it. That said, it doesn't look like he can take another hit. Use Dark Pulse again but watch your aim!"Gastly nodded and positioned herself between Poliwag and the lake before firing off another Dark Pulse. The tadpole Pokemon was sent flying yet again, landing on a patch of grass knocked out and unable to battle further. Seeing that she had won, Gastly flew back to Mirai and did a few victory laps around her head, grinning mischievously. Meanwhile, Mirai walked over to Bosco whose own battle had concluded as well and was spraying Dilla with a Potion.
"Looks like Dilla has seen better days."She bent down and tried to pat the enthusiastic Totodile on the head for a job well done. Hopefully he did not bite. "Ah, I missed the chance to ask earlier. Are you from around here or are you touring as well? I was hoping to run into some locals to ask about a few things regarding the lake." |

“Impressively done. And with a gastly as well. I always wanted one of those.” He said with a chuckle, smiling a bit at her and checking over Dilla for a few more seconds. “You need to rest buddy. No more playing out here for you. Here. Eat this and rest.” He said, feeding the pokemon a treat and it made some happy noises when she pet him for a moment. “Yeah, he can get into a lot of trouble if he isn't watched rather closely. He like to find some mischief when ever he can.”
He sighed once more before recalling him into the pokeball. While he hated having to put him up like this, he knew the small pokemon would get into trouble. “As for why I am here, I am simply exploring. I live in Kikyo City, but don't spend a lot of time there any more. I used to work pretty hard as well, and saved up a lot to help my parents out. Now that they are in a more stable place, I am finally off to travel and see the world. I heard the water here had some pretty nice pokemon, so I figured I would check it out.” He motioned to the pokeball he carried with Totodile in it. “Dilla here likes to explore the waters when he can.”
Knowing that being out here without a pokemon could be dangerous, he tossed out another pokeball, this time it summoned forth a Pinsir. While he was still a young Pinsir, he was already growing well into his role of being a trained pokemon. Bosco stood up and pat his head once, careful to avoid the spines on it's pincers. “He is a good one as well.” He said, pulling out a bit of paper and writing his name and number on it. “If you are ever in need of a guide for Kikyo City however, and if I am in town, I will be happy to play guide for you.”
With that, he would wave once. “I should get back to walking. I am still feeling like exploring while there is daylight. I hope all your photo shoots go wonderful.” He said, smiling at her and heading off. He was only a short distance away before he came across something he was not expecting. There was a carvanha that was hopping from the water, taking small hunks of wood out of the bridge. There was a soft sigh that escaped his lips and he pointed at it.
“Pinsir, X-Scissors when it hops from the water once more.” He called out, the pokemon lowering himself down before rushing forwards and grabbing the fish pokemon. While the rough and pokey skin did hurt, it was not enough to stop the massive pokemon from throwing this one backwards, causing it to bounce several times before it launched itself up, fury on it's face as it bit down on the Pinsir's side. The bug pokemon cried out and then tossed the shark pokemon away, only to launch back into another X-scissors attack, crushing the fish again and throwing it back into the lake. Bosco waited nearly a minute for the pokemon to return, and when it didn't he had concluded it was either KO'd or swam away.

Mirai listened attentively to Bosco and nodded a lot when he mentioned his Pokemon get into trouble sometimes. She could definitely relate to that. It was also quite a coincidence that he was out here on a trip as well, but unlike her, he was actually a native of Johto at least. Kikyo City. She had been there before when she went to check out the Ruins of Alph. That's a place she definitely wanted to visit again some time and so it was nice to have met a new contact there. He called out a new Pokemon in place of his Totodile who really needed to take a break. It was a Pinsir, a rather uncommon sight. This was her first time seeing one in person. She gratefully accepted his contact details and said her farewells. "Thank you! It was really nice meeting you today and I'll definitely get in touch the next time I swing by around Kikyo City. It's a beautiful place."After waving goodbye and watching Bosco go on his way, Mirai turned around and headed back to the lakeside trail she was following earlier.
"Come along you two. Let's see if we can't squeeze in a few more good shots before the day is done."As they headed up the path, Mirai heard some loud splashing coming from a nearby puddle. Checking it out, it looked like a certain Fish Pokemon had the misfortune of getting left out from the lake during low tide and was now stuck on land. Gastly laughed at the poor Pokemon's bad luck and the wild Feebas started to Splash around angrily. Mirai didn't understand anything of course, but the Feebas must have said something "rude" because the Gas Pokemon's demeanor changed from giggling to giving the Fish Pokemon a rather menacing stare. "Really Gastly-kun? Well, if you must. But quite honestly this is bullying, and we've been doing a lot of bullying today come to think of it."Gastly didn't really bother paying attention to the rest of Mirai's words as she swooped in on the Feebas as soon as her trainer gave the okay. Feebas desperately tried to jump up and Tackle the Gas Pokemon, but even if it could reach her, it simply had no effect on ghost types and Gastly smiled evilly. On Feebas' next jump, Gastly retaliated with a Dark Pulse and sent it crashing back down into the puddle. But rather than be put on the brink of fainting, Feebas continued with its futile struggle, causing Mirai to smirk. The wild Pokemon was probably the sturdiest thing they've encountered all day. It really lived up to its name of being able to live anywhere, all things considered. "You started it so you're going to have to end it. A repeated barrage of Dark Pulse should eventually wear it down and put it down for good. Patience is key, as ironic as that sounds in this situation."With the wild Feebas unable to properly fight back let alone try to swim away, it was a sitting duck to Gastly's multiple Dark Pulses and the hardy Fish Pokemon finally fainted. As a sort of courtesy to its tenacity, Mirai asked Buizel to carry it back to the lake where it recovered after a while and swam away. Mirai found herself snapping a photo of this. Though it was nothing impressive strength-wise, it was still not everyday you ran into such a Pokemon. The blue haired coordinator and her Pokemon continued to walk around the lake and take pictures until the sun came down before finally heading back to town. |
