A cool breeze swept the rooftop of the inn which Raven stood on. The city spread beneath her; lights illuminated the city, so bright that she could barely see the stars in the night sky; the game corner filled the air around with a cacophony of voices and machines, no matter what time of the day it was. In the morning, it was even busier, a different set of people on the streets doing their own business. The unforgiving bustle kept the city alive day and night, whereas at home, tradition greatly influenced their lifestyle.

The sun shone bright today, a great day for a quick stroll outside. Since she arrived, she hasn't missed a day without visiting the rooftop of the inn, and that's just where she was this fine morning. It didn't get old. Every time she went up here, she couldn't help but be awed by the skyscrapers and development the city boasted to the whole region. They met her expectations. They always did, even when she came here when she was young.
[break][break]
A small voice took her attention. She could barely hear it, but it was there, the voice of a child sobbing. She followed the voice, cautiously until she found him, a young boy crying in a corner. "Hey there," she said softly as not to scare him, "Don't be scared. I'm a ranger~! But hey, why are you crying? Did you lose your parents?" He shook his head as his sniffles calmed. "Do you want my to take you to them?" He shook his head again, pushing himself more into the corner. Somehow, Raven recognized that look. "You ran away, didn't you?" When he didn't answer, she knew.
[break][break]
A memory nagged at the back of her mind but she quickly pushed it away. Not now when a child needed her. She smiled at him and urged him out of the space. She knew she shouldn't be doing this but... "Do you want to come with me? I'm going out to meet some pokemon in Route 35. It's not that far." Man, she swore she sounded shady. The kid seemed to love the idea, however. A smile quickly drew over the frown on his face. "But only if you promise to let me bring you back to your parents after." He was hesitant, but he agreed anyway.

She winked. "It's decided then. I'll give you the time of your life!"
