"Ah... Fusube City." He sighed at the sight of the city. This would be one of his final destinations when him and his team were strong enough to approach the challenge that laid beyond this City. Though he heard about the famed 'Dragon Den' that was located somewhere around the city, it was off-limits at the time being. Spade was lucky enough to have captured a Dratini already. [break][break]
He was here to visit Route 45, and view the entrance to Victory Road before going back on his journey. It was almost like a visualization type of thing for him. He wanted to get a good look at the entrance so he could see himself coming here with his developed team and taking on the challenges that laid wait inside, before reaching the end and being able to challenge the Pokemon League. [break][break]
The black haired male walked through the city with haste, appearing at the entrance to Route 45 within no time. At this point, his Pokemon were all hidden inside their PokeBalls. He began his walk along the winding road with a smile on his face. The air was nice and enjoyable, probably because the water right next to him was so clear and looked so refreshing. He debated jumping in for a swim after he visited the entrance to the 'Dark Cave'. [break][break]
Hmm.. that reminds me. I still don't have a water type. Oh well, patience is key anyway. He mused to himself as he continued along the winding road. Looking forward he still didn't see the Cave no where in sight, it seemed the road was much longer than he originally thought. Despite his rushed start to his journey, he had only seen two dozen Pokemon or so. From his earlier studies he knew their were hundreds and hundreds of them. How someone could record all of them in one journey was beyond him. The thought of other regions containing Pokemon that cannot be found anywhere here in Johto fascinated him, but also stressed him out. Creating the perfect Pokemon team was almost impossible, instead, one had to forge a team that had a strong connection with each other. That's what mattered, or at least he naively thought.

The patriarch of the Ross clan was one Mason Ross. A large man with an equally large and jovial personality. He had dabbled in various business dealings from Kanto to Alola, and to Elsie, it seemed that he knew almost everyone. She had only been in Johto for a few days before receiving a message on her Pokénav from one of her father’s associates summoning her to Fusube City. She met with the man for dinner one evening, and after a series of strange events was given a Misdreavus by the eclectic businessman.

With her new Misdreavus in tow, Elsie decided to take a detour and visit Route 45 before heading back to Kogane. After studying a map of the region she had found that there was a cave hidden away somewhere along the route, and she was curious about what kind of Pokémon resided there. She figured that as a ranger she could only benefit from developing a good working knowledge of the different environments and their Pokémon in Johto.

In an effort to win over the affection of her new ghost type, Elsie had released the Misdreavus from her Pokéball. As she walked she regularly shot suspicious glances at the Pokémon floating beside her. As a species, Misdreavus could be a troublesome Pokémon that sought enjoyment by frightening others. The last thing Elsie needed was her new Pokémon giving someone a heart attack.

Almost as if in response to Elsie’s apprehension, the Misdreavus zoomed off ahead of her trainer. “Blair, NO!” she yelled, fumbling for a Pokéball. Abandoning the idea of trying to return the Pokeémon to her ball, Elsie frantically sprinted after the ghost. Unfortunately for Elsie, Blair was much faster and had put quite a distance between them.

Elsie skidded around a corner and was met with horror when Blair was nowhere to be seen. Instead, a young man with black hair stood on the path only a few feet in front of Elsie. He stood with his back to her, probably unaware of a shocked and winded Elsie behind him. Oh no. Please don’t do it. She prayed, knowing that at any moment, Blair could reappear and let out a blood-curdling wail that earned Misdreavus the epithet “the screech Pokémon”.

“Uhm, hello, stranger.” Elsie broke the silence speaking to the back of the figure in front of her. “I seem to have…lost my Misdreavus. She might reappear and try and scare you, but don’t worry - she’s probably harmless.”

“She’s only a baby, could you help me find her?” she pleaded, uncomfortably scratching the back of her head.

He stopped to enjoy the views of the river, hoping to spot something he might like. While taken a pause, he began to get this weird feeling throughout his body. His instinct was trying to let him know about something, but he couldn't quite make it out. It's as if something was watching him, but there was nothing around. [break][break]
Suddenly he heard a noise from behind him, causing the man to turn around, laying eyes on a beautiful red haired girl. This can't be what I was feeling earlier... He thought to himself, as he noticed her tired look. "A Misdreavus? No wonder I felt something right before you came here, I just hope it doesn't scare me so bad I fall into the river." He let out a soft laugh. They were standing on the edge of the river and if it wasn't for her bringing awareness to her lost friend, the soon to come jump scare would have landed him in the water.[break][break]
"How could I not help such a pretty lady like yourself. I got you, though I'm sure she's around here somewhere—waiting for the perfect time to come out. Maybe she'll come out if she sees another target to scare." He mentioned. His digits fumbling around along his belt, retrieving the PokeBall of his choosing, he released it out in front of him but much closer to the wooded area that was opposite of the edge of the river. Sköll the Charmander let out a long yawn, and wondered why he was woken from his nap. "Sköll, this here is... Actually I didn't get your name. I'm Spade, nice to meet you." He introduced himself, while his Charmander looked on with curiosity. He didn't know whether to approach her or not, but it was obvious that he wanted to really badly. He hadn't met many other people yet, but was always looking for a friendly interaction with a good person.

He withdrew Charmander and continued walking towards his original destination. Though it was odd to have had that encounter just now, he shook it off like it never happened. Spade did hope she ended up catching up to her Ghost Type. [break][break] This was his first time scouting the area around him, so he had no idea what Pokemon he would come to meet. It's not like it mattered really, he was just here to view the entrance to Victory Road. It was a vital part of his journey, as it was a place he could visualize whenever he faced an obstacle he didn't think he could get past. He knew his team was nowhere near ready to take on Victory Road, but he had faith that the next time he would visit this area it would be another story. [break][break] As he continued to walk along the winding road, a Magmar appeared before him. It was unique looking Pokemon, with colorful markings very similar to that of a burning fire. Though it made sense, it was a fire type. Unfortunately Spade didn't have a water Pokemon on his team at the moment, so he went with his newly acquired Dratini. [break][break] " Deebo, come on out!" The Dratini was released on the field, standing a few meters from the interested Magmar. For once, the Dratini didn't have an attitude. Whether it was because he was in a good mood, or the recent training they've done together helped bring them closer, Spade didn't know. What mattered was, he was in the mood to listen to his trainer and that was something Spade wasn't going to waste. [break][break] " Use Twister!" Spade commanded. The Dratini released a whirling wind that launched itself towards the Magmar, capturing it in it's center. The Magmar endured the attack, and retaliated with a Feint Attack, landing on the unsuspecting Dratini. Though, now in close quarters, Spade knew it was time to try out the latest move that his Pokemon had learned. " Dragon Tail! Right on the Magmar's face!" He screamed, alerting the Dratini and leading it to use it's new move. It's tail lit up, and it launched itself in the air to land the powerful attack to the Magmar's face. The attack did enough to knock the Pokemon unconscious. [break][break] " Great job Deebo!" Spade purred, petting the Dratini on it's head. They walked along the path together, hoping to come across more Pokemon to test their might against.

It was nice to see Deebo enjoy himself. Though, it was probably a good idea to let him have some freedom anyway. It would hopefully help in the future when it came to Deebo listening to his trainer. [break][break] The sun was slowly going down but Spade saw the entrance to the cave not far away. He decided to sprint ahead, making sure to look back every so often to make sure his Dratini was following suit. As he approached the Cave entrance, he took a look inside and inhaled the air from the cave before turning back around. " I'll be here soon enough..." He muttered aloud to himself. [break][break] As he began to walk back towards the water to put his Dratini back into the PokeBall, he noticed a cute little fire type enjoying itself on the grass. Spade took out his PokeDex and scanned the Pokemon. It was a Cyndaquil, a fire type that blasted flames from it's back. What a cutie... he thought to himself. It would be a pain to hurt it before capturing, but it was the only way. " Deebo, come over here. Use wrap!" He told his Pokemon. The Dratini jumped out of the water and rushed towards the Cyndaquil, getting a hold of it with it's tail. [break][break] As Deebo squeezed, the Cyndaquil covered itself in fire and rolled out if its grip. It used Flame Wheel to break free, a smart move... Spade thought. " Dratini, use Leer!" The distance between the two allowed for Deebo to capture the Cyndaquil with Leer, lowering it's defense. In response, Cyndaquil used swift. The normal attack did a bit of damage to Dratini who shook off the starry attack. " Use Dragon Tail!" Deebo's tail lit up and smacked the Cyndaquil in the face with a powered up Dragon Tail. The Cyndaquil looked weak enough so Spade reached for an empty PokeBall and threw it at the Cyndaquil. He waited in anticipation hoping it would be caught.
