Out of the wetlands area and into a new place, Mamoswine and Mirai found themselves in a field of flowers. This too was also a new sight and Mirai couldn't help but snap a few photos. There were flowers almost as far as the eye could see. She could also spot a few Pokemon playing around in the distance. One such Pokemon would suddenly stop and sniff the air before running towards Mamoswine.
The Pokemon that approached was a Swirlix and it was running around in circles around the Twin Tusk Pokemon while barking. If she was not mistaken, Swirlix were Pokemon would loved and were drawn to sweets. She had kept them in resealable bags but if the Cotton Candy Pokemon's legendary sense of smell was the real deal, then a bag wasn't going to stop it from finding out that she had cupcakes with her that she meant to have as a snack later on with her team. Unfortunately she didn't bring any extras.
"I apologize but if you want one, then you're going to have to battle for it. Roserade-kun, I need your assistance."
The Bouquet Pokemon came out once and almost immediately the Swirlix found itself enticed by her scent. It wasn't on purpose, but in hindsight Roserade were Pokemon that drew in prey with their sweet aroma. With the Cotton Candy Pokemon focused on her, it should make things much easier.
"Toxic Spikes, followed by Petal Blizzard!"
Roserade began to twirl around scattering toxic spikes surrounding the distracted Swirlix. With its attention to its environment being less than ideal, it ended up stepping on some of the poison barbs even without Roserade making an effort to draw it in. The Cotton Candy Pokemon was snapped back into reality and whimpered in pain, but this was only just the beginning. The tornado of flowers summoned by Roserade carried along the other toxic spikes and upon engulfing Swirlix, embedded even more poisonous barbs on it.
Hurting, Swirlix attacked back with Fairy Wind, causing the petal storm to somewhat weaken. The attack itself didn't do much harm to Roserade though thanks to the difference in level and type advantage.
"Finish it off with Giga Drain!"
Red tendrils of energy extended from Roserade and sapped Swirlix of whatever vitality it had left, causing it to faint. She felt bad for it but she couldn't have it following them around everywhere when she just didn't have enough food on her to share. She thanked Roserade for her efforts and recalled her to her Pokeball before signaling Mamoswine to move on.

The flower meadow probably ranked up there among the areas Mirai liked best aesthetically. The scenery was just oozing with material she could use for her performances. Today's safari was worth it just to see it. With a little effort, she might just be able to replicate the image for their next contest but she needed an actual visual to plan it out. Thus she reached for a Pokeball and called out Floette to the scene. The Single Bloom Pokemon emerged from her ball and was soon taken in by the scenery. She probably loved it even more than Mirai did.
"We're look for some natural shots Floette-kun so feel free to enjoy yourself a bit."
Floette nodded and began to float from flower to flower taking her time to appreciate each one. All those sights and smells made her feel right at home. Meanwhile Mirai was snapping away with her camera doing her best to capture Floette's gentle and casual expressions. It was a great place for an impromptu photo shoot and the natural lighting from the sun was just right too.
Distracted by the flowers, Floette while wading in the blossoms, accidentally bumped into something that wasn't quite a flower. It was another Binacle and Floette gently colliding with it woke it up from its nap and it wasn't too happy. It lashed out at the Single Bloom Pokemon with a slash and Floette just barely managed to guard herself with her flower. She tried to apologize but the Two-Handed Pokemon was too cranky to listen to reason and fired a Water Gun back at her.
"Floette-kun, are you alright? It looks like we'll have to put it back to sleep. Grassy Terrain, followed by Petal Dance!"
The shining grassy field created by Grassy Terrain contrasted beautifully with the flower meadow. In fact it actually complemented it. This was exactly the kind of image Mirai was looking for when she envisioned using this as material for her performances. Much to her surprise, the Binacle stopped attacking as well, awestruck by the sight. Could it be that it went all the way out here because it loved flowers too? This wasn't the usual environment where Binacle could be found. The Two-Handed Pokemon's eyes shined even more when it saw Floette preparing her Petal Dance. It found the swirling flowers mesmerizing. Even after being struck by the attack and getting knocked out, the look on its unconscious face was one of satisfaction.
"What an interesting fellow."
She hadn't planned on it but the Binacle's quirky personality piqued her curiosity. And so she reached for one of her Safari Balls and threw it in an attempt to capture the flower-loving Pokemon.

Floette continued to float around out of her ball as they traversed through the flower meadow. Mirai wanted to get as many shots as she could while they were there. All good things come to an end though and eventually they reached the end of the road, leading to the next area. As she about to call the Single Bloom Pokemon back, she heard a familiar barking sound from somewhere behind them. It seemed another Swirlix had picked up the scent of the food they were carrying.
"I doubt this one will listen to reason either. Floette-kun it seems we've got one last battle on our hands before going to the next place."
Floette nodded and prepared to face the Cotton Candy Pokemon. To be honest it did not look very threatening, but the closer it got to them, the more its expression changed to something that wouldn't take no for an answer.
"Let's start with Vine Whip! Fend it off and then if possible bind it!"
Floette extended her vines and lashed out at the incoming Swirlix. The difference in power allowed Floette to knock it back a few times but it was persistent in trying to get close. In the end, the Single Bloom Pokemon had to wrap Swirlix up tight to keep it in place. It struggled under Floette's bindings but it didn't possess the physical strength to break free. It then attacked with Fairy Wind but even that wasn't strong enough to cut the vinesand Floette resisted the move too. It was time to end its struggle.
"Toss it up and finish it with Petal Dance!"
Swirlix was hurled several meters up into the air. But instead of falling back to the ground, it was met by a tornado of flower petals that smothered it and knocked it out. Mirai made a mental note that they were pretty troublesome Pokemon, especially if you had something they wanted. Its ability was really useful though and she could think of many applications for such an amazing sense of smell. It wasn't a talent she needed at the moment however.
Recalling Floette back to her Pokeball after a thumbs up for her great work, Mirai tapped Mamoswine on the head to advance to the next place on the map.

After going through a series of of new environments it was probably about time that stepped into one that was more familiar. It was a desert-like area with sand everywhere and random rocks littered all around. But while they could replicate the terrain, it was hard to do the same with the actual weather, so what they ended up with was a rather cool desert. Deserts in fact got really cold at night when there was no sun. The effect wasn't too different then though it wasn't really dark out yet.
As hey walked on through, Mamoswine suddenly stopped and grunted to alert Mirai of something. Having been warned about them earlier, the Twin Tusk Pokemon made it a point to be on the lookout for that Pokemon considering how small and difficult to spot it was. But it's tiny size wasn't going to hide it from Mamoswine's excellent sense of smell. Perched on a rock just a few feet ahead was a Joltik watching and getting ready to pounce as they passed by, but the Twin Tusk Pokemon picked up on its scent before it could do so.
"Not bad Mamo-kun. I'm not sure what it's planning but it definitely seems like it's after us. Let's engage it first. Altaria-kun, I require your assistance!"
Altaria flew out of her Pokeball, her first time being called out during this trip besides when they stopped for lunch. Stretching out her wings, she flew one small lap overhead before settling down hovering before Mirai and Mamoswine. Joltik's gaze switched from Mamoswine to the Humming Pokemon. It seemed she had gotten its attention. It began to emit sparks, preparing to use an Electric type attack probably.
"I believe the little one wants to play. Disarming Voice!"
Joltik found itself momentarily stunned by the voice attack even as it tried to jump out of the way. There was no escaping it. Its small size wasn't going to help it there. After the attack was over, the Attaching Pokemon responded with a voice move of its own and a Screech echoed from it, the sound of which made surprising that it was coming from such a tiny body.
"Altaria-kun is my master of sound. This isn't a contest you can win just like that, little bug. Altara-kun, use Sing followed by Dragon Pulse!"
Humming a mesmerizing tune, Joltik's many eyes began close as it drifted off to sleep. With the target immobile, it was a sitting duck for the Dragon Pulse that followed, hitting it at full force while also destroying the rock it was perched on. The Attaching Pokemon was knocked out.

It was unexpected. The wind suddenly began to pick up and before they knew it they had a mild sandstorm on their hands. Mirai had taken out the blanket from her bag to cover herself and keep the sand off her. Mamoswine who was a Ground type wasn't really bothered much. Visibility was hindered but not too poor. They could still see several meters around them but out of consideration for his trainer, the Twin Tusk Pokemon slowed down his pace a bit.
This was the perfect environment to set up an ambush, assuming anyone was brave enough to attack the pair. And as fate would have it, there actually was a Pokemon looking to challenge itself, seeing the large Pokemon traversing the sandstorm. A Helioptile tried to creep up from behind Mamoswine, unaware that the Twin Tusk Pokemon's amazing sense of smell wasn't too hindered by the wind and sand all around them. The Generator Pokemon jumped up to strike but Mamoswine was ready. Grunting to let Mirai know he was going to make a move, he suddenly turned around and shifted his weight to his side, slamming into Heliptile's Pound with his own Tackle and sending the little one flying. Mirai grabbed on tight and quickly realized something was attacking them.
"It was sneaking up on us? That was quite brave."
She finally had a good look at the aggressor and identified it rather easily. It was another Pokemon native to her region so she couldn't miss it.
"That's a Helioptile. Judging from how easily it's moving in this sandstorm, it must be a Sand Veil type. It shouldn't pose too much of a threat to you Mamo-kun but battling it while it's darting around in the sand could be troublesome. Let's end it with one big move it can't avoid. Earthquake!"
Mirai was right. As soon as the Helioptile regained its bearings after being hit by tackle, it started running in circles to try and confuse Mamoswine but it was a futile exercise. Stomping his feet on the ground, tremors began to emanate from the Twin Tusk Pokemon in all directions. There was no place to run. The Generator Pokemon found itself caught between the shifting earth and taking heavy super effective damage.
Mirai reached for her last Safari Ball and threw it at the weakened Helioptile to attempt to capture it. It was a very useful Pokemon and when raised right had access to many flashy moves. She had a good feeling it would make for a fine addition to her team.

The catch is successful! Following a loud ding over the loudspeaker, you are promptly kicked out after expending your last safari ball.
Grats on the pokemon!
