Route 37; just south of Enju City, she had recently just visited the dance theater and poked her head around the contest hall that resides there. Despite not having in interest in being a trainer when she was younger, Haruka always liked the contests. They were flashy and she enjoyed the idea of being able to wear a gown and look pretty on stage. Alas it was not contest season and she had a long ways to go when it came to understanding her pokemon and their capabilities.

What better way than to battle other pokemon?

By her side today was Usagi, her female mareep that was a recent addition to her team. So far, she felt that the pokemon warmed up to her fairly well, but there were a few complications when it came to the Pokemon's potential. At the time Usagi only knew how to do a few moves, all previously identified by her pokedex, and she found out that she doesn't known any electric type moves other than a static shock which paralyzes her opponent. Though that move is useful, it never did significant damage; --so hopefully today that would change.

Feet shuffled through the tall grass as she progressed, putting the city gate farther behind her in her search for wild pokemon. Previously they all appeared as she walked through the tall foliage and meadows, so she kept consistent, her Mareep following her footsteps as they hoped to find some sort of lifeform.

[attr="class","smdbody"]ash yawned noisily, resting upon her belly as she blinked lazily at a cluster of wild flowers. the grass beneath her tickled the flesh of her bare arms and legs, and she had been forced to stifle the occasional sneeze as blades of grass gently tickled her nose. she had been dozing on and off, partially concealed within the overgrown patches of grass that framed the route's well-trodden pathway. such a decision to nap out in the lengthy stretch of meadow was an undeniably bold one, but she trusted her phanpy to keep watch. the bundle of blue and tough skin was tucked away at her side, alert and straining his hearing as he remained vigilant. no one had passed her by - and no creature had disturbed her rest. the moment she truly awoke, she felt rejuvenated and willing to push herself onto her knees. stretching would follow, and dull cracks would originate from the joints of her bones as she moved about. her phanpy shifted away before plopping his rear onto a ground with a soft grunt. he then squinted his eyes, having detected far off footsteps; but they were soft, and accompanied by the faint stirring of grass that nearly concealed the noise altogether. " phan?" the pokemon stood, turning his head to and fro and lifting his trunk before pointing it in the direction of an unfamiliar young woman. " mmm?" ash stood upon slightly wobbly legs, blinking blearily at her immediate surroundings before running her fingers through her unkempt mane. " wha - ?" she rubbed her eyes. " whaissit?" Arm's held above her head, blue-gray eyes came to rest upon a female figure who was a few meters in front of Haruka and Usagi. She stood up, raising up from the green grass and running her hands through her short brown hair before taking notice of the approaching pair. Haruka blinked, once more, and again, as she took in the sight trying to understand just what it was that she stumbled across.

"Oh. My apologies, I didn't mean to disturb you," she apologized, assuming that it was her fault before looking back at the waddling mareep as it circled around it's trainer. It raised it's head, a sound catching her attention before it called back to the young girl. "What is it Usagi?"
[break][break]Having noticed a pokemon, the eager Mareep bounded forward, past the sleepy duo and facing the pink and blue frame of the small Mime Jr. Just as excited, Haruka ran past them as well, giving a apologetic glance and bowing politely before stepping up to her pokemon, "That's good Usagi!" she called out as it got the attention of the wary wild pokemon.
[break][break] To her surprise there was also another pokemon, a levitating creature shaped like a moon which seemed to be quite irritated at the Mime Jr, its expression clearly portray'd in the sounds it made and the fact that it faced the Mime jr without question.
[break][break]"I wonder if they got in a fight," she said curious, knowing that sometimes wild pokemon play pranks on one another and stumble into their territories. But Haruka now faced a challenge, she had never battled two pokemon at the same time, but didn't think she could separate the two irritated pokemon from one another. "This is my chance, I can't just give it up," she told herself before looking back at the trainer she stumbled upon just moments ago, "Hey could you help me battle these two pokemon?" Haruka asked, gesturing to the pair in front of her.

[attr="class","smdbody"]ash pulled her hands away, squinting at the girl as her vision began to clear. her gaze would sweep across the petite form of the nameless stranger before lingering on her face. this young woman appeared to be her age - and was also quite pretty as well as petite in shape. " it's alright," she replied, the barest hint of a slur present in her words. " i wasn't doing anything, anyway." her attention flitted from the brunette to her companion, the mareep making for a somewhat familiar sight. as a child, she had seen them quite often on television. and her favorite nursery rhyme book, when she was around five of six, actually featured such a creature on its cover. " mmm." she wiped her mouth, scratching at a dried line of drool that had slid down to her chin. once it had been cleared away, and she tamed her previously ruffled mane with her fingers, she observed as the woman and her companion shifted their focus toward a pair of wild pokemon. ash had bore witness to this, though she was slightly distracted as she attempted to discern how much time had passed since she had taken her nap. due to the lack of an immediate threat, she was somewhat sluggish to properly respond to the mime jr. and lunatone. " phan-py." her pokemon gently nudged at her leg, and she very quickly shifted her wandering gaze back toward the bright-eyed girl whom was in the midst of requesting her aid. " ah - " she chuckled quietly, an apologetic smile taking shape. ash's personal weakness for lovely women began to bubble to the surface, resulting in her temporarily shelving her usually boastful and arrogant displays. " can't say no to a pretty face," she replied. " so, you want me to handle the lunatone, right?" the woman eyed her target, uncertain of what to make of its typing and potential weaknesses. " looks like a rock-type. but it's a bit too weird looking to be a pure one, don't you think?" [break][break] Wow that just made me sound so uncool [break][break] Taking a glance at her opponent she then looked at Usagi and gave a slight nod before encouraging it, "Use Thunderwave and paralyze your target, then go in for a tackle!" This will be the first time she has tried to give back to back orders, but after being shown that it gave your opponent little time to react, she wanted to get used to the timing. [break][break] Following Haruka's commands, the female mareep let out a sonic wave of electrical current from its mouth, the mime jr wincing back as it already experienced the effects. "Great now go in with that tackle," she reconfirmed, her mareep charging forward to tackle the psychic and fairy type pokemon to the ground. [break][break]"Back away and get ready for it's attack!" she followed with, ushering her pokemon back and to observe the damage done to the mime jr. She wasn't even paying attention to her friend and their battle; But couldn't help but try to glance over at small moments and windows of time. "What if it was too much for her? I'll just have to finish up here fast and help if needed!" [break][break] The mime jr couldn't move, its paralysis keeping it in place and that gave Usagi another chance, "Okay, use tackle once more!" she said, the mareep once more dashing forward to slam its body into the Mime jr with alot of force. It was exciting to see the pokemon spin on its axis before falling into the grass behind it, fainting from exhaustion. [break][break] "Great job Usagi!" she yelled out running to congratulate her mareep yet not touching its wool as she learned the hard way that she will suffer from its static. [break][break][break]

'i know what to use.' she released her mawile from its capsule, the pokemon appearing in a flash of bright light. once out, the fairy would raise her arms high above her head and stretch, her maw opening wide as she yawned. 'guess i interrupted a nap.' the woman chuckled, a fond look creasing her features. " hey, queen!" the pokemon blinked in response to her name before peering over her shoulder at her trainer. " maw?" ash proceeded to thrust a finger in the lunatone's direction, the floating piece of sentient rock now peering at the pair in turn. with the mime jr. now being forced to partake in battle, the entirety of its attention would shift toward the mawile and her human counterpart. " use iron head on that moon-shaped rock!" queen rubbed her eyes and then dipped her head in acknowledgement before moving to execute the move. her jaw-like appendage grew stiff, a grey sheen covering the length of it as the mawile hurriedly closed the distance between herself and the lunatone. the blow would cause the rock-type to reel, a glimmer of anger visible within its crimson gaze. it retaliated by wielding its abilities as a psychic to pull rock from the earth before launching the pieces of hardened earth in the fairy's general direction. " ma - !" the pokemon attempted to shield her face, only to have a nicely-sized chunk of rock slam into it. her nostrils flared in response, a light trickle of blood now oozing from the orifice. " show 'em you won't just take that," ash barked, eyes narrowing. " another iron head." queen lunged to bash the pokemon, snarling as she executed the brutish move. the wild creature wavered unsteadily in the air, releasing a piteous rumble before it simply collapsed. her mawile wiped at her muzzle once she was certain her foe would not rise up again, smearing the thick liquid it in the process. To her suprise, the pokemon was native to Hoenn, her homeland, but she had never seen one before, --but she had no care for pokemon before coming to johto. [break][break] "Say...," she paused and pursed her lips slightly, "Do you think you can teach me? Or at least tell me how you obtained your confidence with your pokemon? It just..-- it seemed like you could really bring out their best potential and I'm trying to teach Usagi here a new move," she finished before gesturing to her pokemon. [break][break] I feel like she is close to showing me something really awesome but I feel like it is my fault for lacking ambition as a trainer." It may have been a bit of a shot in the dark, but there was little harm in asking, and the worst that the girl could do was say no to her face. [break][break] But before she could get a proper answer, a shrill chime of a bell reverberated close by followed by a distinct electronic cry. Eyes followed the sound, capturing two more pokemon in her view. "What is with pokemon on this route being so restless?"[break][break][break]

" i'm pretty new to this, too." ash looked to her companion, the mawile continuing to futilely wipe at the slick blood as the humans spoke. the little beast was honestly making a mess of herself, and the fighter would reach into the pocket of her denim shorts to retrieve a handkerchief with a sigh. as she crouched and cleaned her fairy's face, she spoke. " everyone has different styles of training, you know?" she glanced at the woman and then at the mareep. Sure in reality there was no wind to carry her hair back majestically, but in her head she still imagined the scene unfolding. This girl in front of her, was enough to make her start crying, her heart pounding as she felt the power of her words. [break][break] "Ummm... Thank you," she mumbled, realizing just how dumb it was to ask anyone to teach someone how to utilize their pokemon. It was a skill learned through experience and here she was trying to cheat that. Despite feeling sorry for that, she felt uplifted, taking the girls wisdom to heart, 'She is right, I did come here...'[break][break] As for the pokemon, once again they were those she had never seen, and she took the time to scan both of them and gain what information she could. "Oh yeah..." she said, reaffirming the girls desire to take on the levitating blue plate. [break][break] "Alright Usagi, let's start this off fast!" she said, the pokemon locking eyes on the bell like pokemon in front of it, "Quickly use tackle!" she ordered, the pokemon doing its best to charge forward before slamming its body into it. The impact pushed the small Chingling back, but unlike the mime jr it retaliated, its red and white striped scarf growing in size and wrapping around Usagi tightly. [break][break] "Usagi! Try to break free by using your static!" she said, the mareep letting out a static shock via its fur. Traveling up it's ribbon the static pulsed through the chingling, who stiffened at it's production. "Great now try to wriggle free and use tackle once more!" [break] [break] With execution of her trainers orders, the mareep was free from the wrap and stood close by her trainer as the chingling furrowed its brows, and shook off Usagi's attack. Clearly frustrated, it let out a shrill chime, a pulse of psychic waves clashing with Usagi who let out a squeek of pain. That move was quite effective and Usagi was looking really bad. Haruka bit her lip and reached for the pokeball on her hip, "Usagi come ba--" she stopped, the female mareep looking back at its trainer with a glance of determination. She wanted to see this through to the end. [break][break] "Okay Usagi, show me what you got!" she barked with a slight grin on her face, knowing that her friend leaned on her for support. With a nod, the small fluffy pokemon shimmered with light, an electric aura building up around its wool. In an instant, a brilliant flash of light erupted, striking the Chingling with immense force. When Haruka opened her eyes past the blinding light, the pokemon lay still on the ground, and Usagi shook her body slightly, remnants of static nestling into its coat. [break][break] She was silent for a moment before letting out a gasp followed by a laugh, "You did it Usagi!" she squealed before running forward and reaching into her bag and pulling out a potion. "Let's get you fixed up, you did good girl," she said calmly, the potion already taking effect and her Pokemon's wounds healing up nicely. [break][break]

'it's like a blank slate.' the novice trainer couldn't help but stare, her gaze locking with the creature's for what felt like an eternity. " bronz - bronz - bronz," it chanted. " ugh." ash stumbled, clutching at her head as she experienced a wave of drowsiness that threatened to pull her under. she squeezed her eyes shut and turned away, fumbling at her belt to retrieve the capsule of her meditite. once the fighting-type had taken leave of the pokeball, ash's now worryingly dulled gaze would immediately settle upon the bronzor. " calm mind," she said. her words were presented as a slur, her eyes half way to being closed as she struggled to overcome the hovering psychic's spell. " use it. use... calm mind." the meditite glanced over her shoulder at her human, a look of worry creasing the pokemon's features before she obeyed the command. her eyes would fall shut, an aura pulsating from her in waves as her powers were bolstered. " use - use..." ash blinked twice - thrice - " mmm - sleepy," she murmured. the woman fell asleep then and there, her form growing increasingly limp until she was arranged on her side upon the grassy plain. soft - yet clearly audible - snores slipped out of her, her mouth agape and a fresh line of drool now seeping from the noisy wet cavern. " medi?" her pokemon was clearly caught off guard by her human's collapse, the meditite turning to tend to her mistress only to be roughly tackled from behind. rook was forced to rely upon herself for such a skirmish, and would quickly retaliate with the move of hidden power. the potent attack produced three luminescent orbs that would abruptly launch themselves at the steel-type. the move's potential had been strengthened due to the usage of calm mind - and the battle would shift in the little fighter's favor as a result. " bronz!" the wild pokemon spun in tight circles. " medi-tite!" because she lacked the appropriate guidance needed to utilize her moves to their fullest potential, errors were made. the attempted usage of 'confusion' failed - and the fighting-type had struggled to land a solid blow following the hidden power's success. the bronzor was infuriatingly quick, wielding its ability to levitate to both dodge and potentially frustrate the fighter. she very nearly fell into a range, the execution of her powers growing sloppy with each failed attempt. " medi!" it was the excessive usage of force palm that proved the most effective, the bronzor's eyes eventually fading as it fell like a lump of rock. rook hurried to her mistress's side once she had claimed the title of the victor, resting a hand upon the unconscious woman's shoulder before giving her a rough shake. Her victory was short lived, the sound of the nearby Meditite gaining her attention, her gaze focusing on the frame of Ash who layed unconscious on the ground. Immediately she ran over, joining the fighting type pokemon and kneeling into the grass. A flood of confusion fell over Haruka as she examined the girl, finding no wound or source of pain, she was just merely asleep, and wouldn't wake up.

Frantically she looked around, trying to calculate all her best options. She could simply wait it out, take her to the hospital or at least identify what plagued her in the first place and that was when she noticed the still blue Bronzor. She was familiar with the pokemon, it being native to Sinnoh, she had come across it a few times prior.

Wild pokemon targeting humans was not unheard of in the least, though its occurrence was rare as it was against league rules for battles, but out here in the wild, they didn't follow those laws. Reaching into her bag, Haruka took out a small bento looking box where she stored any food rations and berrys she came across.

"I am grateful my father was a professor...." she mumbled to herself while trying to force feed the chesto berry to the unconscious woman on the ground. Hopefully her meditite wouldn't take it as an act of harm and attack her, as she would have hated to leave the girl laying there. The effects of Hypnosis could last from minutes to hours, and there is no telling what could happen to her.

" medi." the dual-type moved her paws carefully before her, managing to manipulate the woman into chewing and swallowing the substance. after it had been given time to settle in her stomach, the young fighter would awaken slowly, successfully freed from her unconscious state. " wha - ?" the hypnosis's spell had been lifted, and ash would mumble to herself as she sat up and rubbed her eyes. " ugh - what's that taste in my mouth?" it was a curiously chalky flavor with the barest hint of sweetness mixed in. the fighter had a difficult time appropriately describing it, and would blink in confusion before running a finger through her hair. she didn't even bother trying to tame the locks without a comb, and would simply rub circles into her temples instead.
