Chance is sitting upon a protruding rock hanging over an extremely high cliff which gave him the perfect view of Enju City and all the rolling fields encompassing it. It had been a couple of weeks since he has last seen the professor, so, the first thing he did upon getting back within the Region was reaching out to Noelani and setting up a little outing for the both of them. Truthfully, at first, he was thinking about a little beach outing—just them, their Pokémon, and the soothing sound of mother nature. However, upon the last possible minute, he changed his mind and told the professor to meet him at the most common entrance leading into the maze-like interior of the mountain. After speaking those words, he maintained a big silly grin from ear to ear—a grin that spoke volumes and loudly said he was extremely happy to see her after all that time had passed. standing up from the protruding rock, well-defined arms were thrown high over head in the shape of a v. The teenager turns his back to the female and takes another good long look at the breathtaking scenery. " Views like this in Kanto are damn near nonexistent." Chancelor says with whimsical chuckle, turning to face Palm before leaping off the rock and landing on firm sold earth. " How have you been? You're lookin' healthy as ever." Her eyes pulled toward the sky as she considered what else the man might have missed, but the sheer volume of information to pick through left her at a loss of words.[break][break]

When the professor mentions her trusted and loyal Meowth, the eyes of the teenager open wide with surprise. " No shit?" Is all he could mange to say, once he finally began to realize the little guy was no where to be seen. Typically the feline is roosting upon the shoulder of Noelani, but if he did evolve, it only made sense he would now be spending more time in his ball instead of the dainty shoulder of his trainer. That was when it hit him—like a double slap from a sassy and annoyed Wigglytuff. Chance had something extremely witty and funny to say in regards to the Meowth, he began giggling like a preteen schoolgirl—finding his own words so funny he couldn't even speak them. Looking over at Palm with a cheesing grin, he was about to say what he intended on saying. However, the giggling ceased and all his attention was back upon the female as she started talking again, her words soft and warm per usual. She said it was nice to see him happy after that event in the train station. She then proceeded to thank him for this little excursion. He chuckles lightly before speaking words that flowed as naturally as a coursing river. " I mean, you make me happy, y'know? Disregarding what happened at the train station, I can't never help but smile when you're around. The time I spent back home with my siblings and pops', it helped me realize a few things." He blinks a few times, licking his lips while turning to face the entrance of the mountain. " I got somethin' to show you." Luckily enough for the youngest McQueen, two wild Pokémon blocked the entrance to the mountain interior. He reaches for a shrunken PokéBall attached to the hip, " You can handle the Sandslash, right?" Chance asks the professor by his side, afterwards, he throws the red and white PokéBall to summon one of six monsters. After a brilliant display of crimson light, a Lucario stood in the wake of said light—laser focused on the Probopass dead ahead. " Show em' what you got, darlin'." The blue jackal howls, an azure aura which illuminated the steel hide of the jackal glowing ever so faintly as she prepared for battle. Before the Probopass could attack, two quick spheres of pure fighting energy ejected from the open palms of Lucario. These spheres traveled whatever distance separated the two battling Pokémon at breakneck speeds. Two powerful collisions caused the compass Pokémon to reel back in both pain and from the impact of such powerful attacks. Taking quick advantage over the fact the wild Probopass had to regain itself, Lucario clapped both of her hands together only to slowly pull them apart afterwards. A pole constructed of spiritual energy conjured in her hands once they were pulled a certain length apart. Probopass, shaking its body after the attack, counters with a beam of three elements. " Finish it!" Her trainer shouts, while the blue jackal evades the attack with Extreme speed—blinking or not, the insanely swift movement would have been missed even by the most trained of eyes. Another burst of impossible speed brings Lucario within striking distance of the Probopass. The pole tightly in grip begins to slam an smash into the hard body of the compass Pokémon. Lucario was graceful, formidable, and thorough in her relentless assault. When it was all said in done, Probopass laid on its side, toppled and defeated with the blue jackal standing over it still brandishing the conjured weapon. ✝ tag(s) - noelani palm . ✝ notes - i told uuu . |

Her hand dropped to her side as she turned to better see the creature, sleepy eyes blinking briefly as she stared toward Lucario's figure in awe, her jaw dropping a short ways in her surprise.[break][break] The retrieval of the ball from her bag had set the Sandslash on edge, Lucario's swift attack on its Probopass partner further inspiring the pokémon to take on a defensive stance. The stone-spined armadillo's feet shifted over the rocky soil to widen its stance as it readied held its claws at the ready, sights set on the oblivious woman still staring in wonder after the aura-wielding fighter.[break][break] Her eyes turned toward Chancelor in question, but her words were quickly cut off by a flash of white from the corner of her vision. The scientist's body fell back with ease, a sandaled foot taking a step back to prevent her fall as she narrowly avoided the claws descending to catch her while her guard was down.[break][break] Sandslash used Crush Claw![break]
Sandslash missed! [break] With a slow blink her eyes turned to meet with those of the Sandslash, another flicker of startlingly bright light signalling the arrival of a different challenger for the ground type.[break][break] Dratini, bearing the undeniably evolved form of her namesake, needed no command from her trainer to begin in her attack. The dragon's eyes narrowed as she drew her tail sharply to serve as her trainer's guard, readying its length to rush toward the sharp-clawed mouse in a bid to send it flying back into the mountain. The brief moment it took to wind her slender body for the attack was plenty of time for her opponent to get a hit in, the angry wild pokémon turning quickly to drop a second pair of claws down for a crushing blow to the dragon's tail.[break][break] Sandslash used Crush Claw![break]

[break] The thick plates of stone serving like quills along the monster's back crashed back against the face of the mountain, leaving a formidable gouge in the rock. The rodent gave a grunt as it fell froward, catching itself easily against a knee as gravity dragged it down from the crater it had broken into the stone to land against the ground.[break][break] ❝ Twister, ❞ Noelani instructed lightly, a hand resting its fingers around the strap of her dufflebag as she observed Dratini's work with a curious gaze.[break][break] Drawing her tail in for another attack, the dragon arched forward, eyes locked toward Sandslash as it pushed from the ground to launch at the Dragonair with its claws readied for another strike. Dratini's tail unfurled in a swift, fluid motion, twisting the wind into a pummeling spiral and whipping it in the wild pokémon's direction.[break][break] Dratini used Twister![break]

Sandslash fainted! [break] Dratini righted her posture as her enemy fell, glaring down over its unconscious form in disapproval as the end of her tail snaked slowly with distaste. The hand at the side of her serpentine form did little to distract her from her own thoughts.[break][break] With the battle won Noelani set her eyes back toward Lucario. ❝ Riolu? ❞ she questioned, uncertainty ringing through her tone.[break][break] The name brought the Dragonair's eyes to level with the bipedal hound, gaze softening as she blinked her eyes.[break][break] A bright smile eased its way to the woman's face as her hand dropped from Dratini's form, careful steps bringing her to close the distance between herself and her familiar, suddenly much taller friend. Her hand reached to set atop Lucario's head fondly.[break][break] ❝ Chance? ❞ she asked in a hopeful voice, her smile softening as her eyes pulled toward him. ❝ Did you? — ❞ The woman tilted her head as she cut her question short, uncertain of how to ask. With the Mouse Pokémon taken care of, Chancelor fixed his gaze upon Palm then on the majestic dragon she had summoned to make quick work of the Sandslash. Lucario on the other hand had her eyes on the professor, a tilted head as the Aura Pokémon quickly recognized the energy radiating from the female. Lucario calls out fondly, allowing the female to pat her head—enjoying the moment of being reunited with a friend. Chancelor allowed the two girls to have their moment, the boy now digging into his backpack to fetch a map which mapped out the entire interior of the mountain. That was when Noelani called out to him, but his attention remained on the map in hand—he knew what she wanted to say. " When I got back to Kanto, the girl was afraid me. She could feel how reluctant and distance I was when it came to training with her." He pauses for a moment, mind going back to that first week of being with the Riolu; a hard and grueling week it was. " I've spent a lot of time with Riolu's and Lucario's, y'know? I can, at least at a basic level, read aura's If I know the aura that I am reading, that is. It was tough at first, but we were patient with each other. Once we got over that first hump, she took to the dojo extremely well. It took a little longer with me, but in the end everything worked out for the best." Chancelor turns around to face Noelai and Lucario, " I wasn't gonna' make the same mistake twice." Taking a few steps towards the mouth like entrance to the mountain interior, from the darkness, a Torkoal slowly emerged. " Tch. C'mon, man. Again...?" Chancelor mutters to himself, Lucario looking up at Palm one more time before running over to give assistant to the man she had grown a connection with. Taking her position beside the teenager, Lucario growled at the unwavering Torkoal. " Keep your guard up against this one, yeah? It's fire attacks will do a number on ya' if it lands a solid hit." She nods before taking the preemptive strike against the fire turtle—a barrage of lightning fasts punches bombarded the tough shell of the Fire type. Torkoal bellows in pain before spewing hot lava everywhere in attempt to consume Lucario whole. The blue jackal, due to Chancelor's warning, is able to prepare for this attack and evade it accordingly. A few handsprings away from the angry Fire type and she'd be at a safe distance. Coming to a rather bouncy land, a few spheres of aura ejected from the furry palm of the hound and traveled with speeds of a bullet. One by one hit the shell of the turtle and caused it to collapse to its knees from the brutal assault. " Finish it with a Bone Rush." Chancelor commands, attention split between the fight and the map. Lucario does just that, rushing forward and clobbering the turtle with an blue aura pole. A strike followed by more and more until the wild Pokémon submitted to defeat. With another wild Pokémon down, Lucario fixed her gaze upon Noelani to ensure she could handle herself when taking care of the Solrock. ✝ tag(s) - noelani palm . ✝ notes - i told uuu . |

Bringing her hand to rest thoughtfully at her chin she watched as the dragon's eyes fell toward the looming Solrock, its stone body spinning quickly before glowing hot with sunlight.[break][break] ❝ Thunderwave will work here, ❞ the woman mused aloud, her head canting to the opposite side as her thumb laid back gently against her chin. ❝ We'll use water, ❞ she further informed, a flicker of light from the corner of her eye ensuring the pokémon would quickly be following through with her command.[break][break] The dance of electricity at the Dragonair's fins quickly brought the psychic stone from its hiding place, its round, spined body spinning quickly in place as it hurried to catch the dragon at a distance with a psychic attack.[break][break] Dratini used Thunderwave![break]

Dratini was hit for moderate damage! [break] As thin lines of electricity jumped about the stone's body its eyes lit with an unearthly glow, the psychic pulse managing to hit the dragon before it could be fully immobilized. Its quickly turning body hitched, as another spike of electricity coursed through its shape, its form struggling against the paralysis as the dragon came rushing to meet it. Dratini's body swept quickly along the ground to close the distance between herself and the wild pokémon, turning smoothly to bring her crystal-beaded tail to meet with its body, a rush of water gathering at its surface to collide with Solrock in a loud splash.[break][break] Dratini used Aqua Tail![break]

Dratini withdrew her tail with ease as she stared out into the cavern, her eyes searching its shadowy interior before turning to rest on the trainer walking to stand at her side.[break][break] ❝ Do you think she'll fit? ❞ she questioned toward Chance as she continued right on by the pokémon, venturing into the cave now that they had finally managed to clear the way.[break][break] Dratini's wing-like fins fluttered as she slunk a bit lower to the ground, dipping down to duck her head so as to fit through the cave's entrance.[break][break] ❝ You'll be able to stay close, Dragonite? ❞ she questioned as she turned lightly in her place, the change in nickname only briefly turning the dragon's eyes downward to peer over her trainer. A soft, rolling cry was offered in positive response, gaze blinking slowly as the lithe serpent turned her gaze to Chance, watching after him with an air of caution. [break][break]wild thread![break]

Once inside the interior of the cave, Lucario went back to the side of the professor, the blue jackal showing affection and the wanting to keep her safe—like the good and loyal dog she was. Chance had no problem with such a gesture because he trained and raised the girl to do just that; to protect and stand for the ideals you believe in and the people—or Pokémon—she cares for the most. The youngest McQueen stood completely still, eyes panning from one side to another before the voice of the professor broke what little concentration he had. Hazel hues leveled upon the human female and her majestic Dragon type. " Of course she wi-," words were ceased as the Dragonair made it happen. The teenager grinned happy to see the Pokémon was able to squeeze her way through, but such a smile would falter once he heard the following words of Noelani—ears twitching with a furrowed brow. " Now, Noelani. I may not be the smartest Chesto Berry on the orchard, but... I'm pretty sure that is a Dragonai-," Words were interrupted by a duo of wild Pokémon, one chasing the other—a floating rock ' floating' for its life while a rocky insect crawled after it with snapping pincers. Lucario springs into action to intercept the Anorith, catching a Bug Bite that bit and chewed at the extremely tough fur of the blue jackal. With a grunt, the hound flung the rocky bug off and ran after it again, because, if this bully of a Pokémon wasn't taken care of, it would undoubtedly cause future troubles for the humans exploring. Anorith retaliated with an Ancient Power, conjuring up a few stones and flinging it in the direction of the approaching Lucario. " Bone Rush and smash em!" Chance orders, the blue pole constructed of pure aura energy being created and used to smash the boulders into little pebbles that faded away into nothingness the very moment they hit the ground. Leaping into the air, Lucario would land upon the Anorith with the blue stick descending down upon the Bug type. Anorith tried to match the power of the attack with a claw coated in metal, but Lucario was simply too strong for the smaller Bug Pokémon. The hound quickly overpowered the wild Anorith and slammed the end of the pole into the hard exoskeleton of the bug. The attack made quick work of the once bully Pokémon, rending it unconscious; like a dead bug; on its back with a twitching leg. " Why the hell are all these Pokémmon so aggressive today? Electricity spidered its way down her fins, the moon-faced stone tilting to raise the point of its mouth toward Dragonite as a silvery sheen of light drew along its edges to pool at its tip.[break][break] Dragonite used Thunderwave![break]

Noelani checked briefly over her shoulder to ensure the beam hadn't caused too much damage.[break][break] There was a quiet hum as she thought over Chance's words, her eyes pulling back to the darkness as she started forward again, the tail blocking her path easing to the side as Dragonite moved to follow along, head low to avoid the ceiling.[break][break] ❝ Maybe there's something further in that's bothering them, ❞ she mused aloud, her head tilting slightly as her gaze rolled back toward Chance, thoughtful. Having lost his initial train of thought due to the following Wild Pokémon attack, the youngest McQueen fixed his gaze upon the professor to make sure she hadn't sustained any kind of injury. That was when she spoke—airing out a rather solid hypothesis behind the recent Pokémon attacks. Chancelor shrugs broad shoulders, these attacks were rather annoying, but when it came to Wild Pokémon attacks, he never put much thought behind a large majority of them—to him, being attacked by wild beasts was what it meant to be a Trainer. " Leave it to a professor to try and find a logical explanation behind every little thing that takes place." The teenager says with a playful chuckle, averting his eyes off Noelani and back upon the map in hand. " If we encounter anything 'off', we'll handle it, yeah?" Looking back at the Professor, the teenager gave her his usual confident grin before pointing a finger straight ahead. " Starting off, we need to go straight for about a mile. This outta' be the 'safest' path, but I was never one to trust maps and signs at face value, y'know? A map don't dictate how mother nature wanna' act, and a sign sure as hell can't control any Wild Pokémon that may want a problem." Lucario listens to the word of her Trainer, her position still beside the professor to guard her if any random event occurred. Looking back at all three ladies he concludes his words with that same smile, " so you ladies keep ya' wits about ya'." With that said, Chancelor beings walking forward with one hand holding the strap to his backpack while the other held tightly to a rolled up map. That was when it dawned upon him again, hitting the teenager like a sack full of bricks. He stops dead in his tracks, snapping his fingers in relief—the sound of the snap echoing through the wide and empty cavern. " Oh yeah! That reminds me!" He looks at Palm before looking at the Dragonair. " Dragonair, right? Not Dragonite...?" Who was this cutthroat ruffian to question a Pokémon Professor?! HER HAND ROSE to scratch its finger lightly at her cheek, eyes turned back to stare toward Chance rather than set forward to watch her step. The dragon at her side pulled slunk a short ways closer, her gaze turning briefly downward to ensure her step before pulling back toward the depths of the cavern. The suggest of "handling" whatever they ran into was met with another lethargic blink, her eyes finally returning to her path.[break][break]
❝ Okay, ❞ she confirmed at his direction, taking a mental count of each clap of her sandal against the dusty floor of the cave to properly measure out the mile in question. She was a short ways ahead by now, his pause to look at the map having given her the chance to wander a good few steps forward. Dragonite's fins shivered briefly, her eyes turning to peer further into the shadows along the sides of the tunnel walls.[break][break]
❝ Her name is Dragonite, ❞ Palm cheerfully replied, her happy tone an awkward match for the flat line of her lips as she studied the cavern's interior intently. ❝ Um — ❞ she continued, slowing to a stop to bend toward a lingering shadow, trying to gauge whether it was another tunnel or a dark hollow in the stone. ❝ I think it really suits her. Don't you? ❞[break][break]
She managed to miss the question entirely as she turned a warm, simple smile toward Chance, pleased by her answer.[break][break]
The misnamed Dragonair seemed to pay little attention to the conversation, remaining attentive at her trainer's side as they continued onward. Her soft-skinned body was starting to show some wear from her efforts, its royal blue surface showing a few shades darker at the crash of claws from the Sandslash at the cave's entrance against her tail. Neither the trainer nor her pokémon seemed concerned with the injury at the moment, the supposed professor too invested in her surroundings to notice much else.
