[break][break] With each passing day, a new victim would return back to town; pecked and penniless. If someone dared to traverse around the Lake of Rage, they were putting themselves at risk. No, not because the Lake was made of literal rage; it was something far worse. What was once a playground for trainers was now a war zone. Anyone that dared to walk these paths was putting themselves at risk. Something as simple as the glint of metal from a ring was enough to bring upon the wrath of these flying marauders. They would sweep from the trees, catching people by surprise with their near-perfect ambush tactics. It was better to surrender. Let the bandits take what they wanted than risk the furry of their tiny, sharp claws. [break][break] It was murder. No, seriously. It was an actual murder of Murkrows. [break][break] “It's just a bunch of stupid birds.” Jenna Wright grumbled to herself, hidden beneath the cover of an empty rest stop. Under the shade of the outstretched awning, the girl was safe from the thieves and their dive-bombing tactics. [break][break] Clothed in her usual attire, the girl looked far from pleased. The large white hoodie that rested over her frame did little to ease the taut line of her shoulders...nor did the frustrated look on her face, where her eyes held an empty, pensive stare. [break][break] If she had it her way, she wouldn't be doing this. [break][break] “I don't see why this has to be such a big deal.” Marker in hand, the young woman continued to scrawl tiny messages in the margins of the map that was sprawled across her knees. For the past hour, she had road around the lake, trying to spy on the little cretins. “Sure, I'm new to this stuff, but do these guys really warrent this much effort?”[break][break] Her complaints were ignored. Her only companion, a scruffy Nidoran, was more preoccupied with grooming himself. [break][break] “And no sightings of the big honcho...” That observation was followed by a bite as the girl chewed at the end of the marker. The boss of the gang had yet to be seen. The Honchcrow; dubbed the Don by his victims. The arrival of this evolved menace had completely revolutionized the Murkrow he commanded. What had once been a misfit gang of trouble-making dark-types had turned into an entire operation! It was ridiculous! [break][break] But, it'd be nice to help out. “...Do I really need help for this?” Wouldn't it be faster if she just kept scouting and handled this on her own? Why did she have to tag along with someone else? It's not like working with someone bothered her; it was the implication. Being told that she would need someone else to work with her felt like a jab at her inexperience. This was just a troublemakers. Why did she need someone to watch over her? To make sure she didn't screw up? It... was not a nice feeling. [break][break] A cursory glance at her phone alerted her to the time. Her “partner” would be showing up soon. “Great. Might as well get ready.” Standing up from her position, Jenna rolled up her map and stuffed it back into its canister. [break][break] The girl's bike was resting on the wall behind her, weaved with an intense network of bungee cords that kept all of her bags in place. She had made sure to latch down all her goods. The last thing she wanted was for one of those dumb birds to get lucky and snag her stuff. [break][break] “I guess he should be coming up the road any minute now...” The sooner they could get this over with, the better. [break][break] I CALL YOU BY YOUR ANCIENT NAME PHARAOH LEAP.

| It was a bit hard to believe that none of the local population to it to themselves to use their own Pokémon to deal with the thieving birds but a job was a job despite how silly it might have sounded to him. With Prometheus at his side, Akira made his way toward the Lake, after having done some time doing a bit more investigation to gather as much information as he could.
Not much was learned that he didn’t already know but knowing what type of items have been stole and when they liked to go hunting for such things was good.
The birds weren’t the only thing heavy on his mind; it was the supposed extra “help” that he’d find on the mission. And by that he meant the dead weight he’d have tagging along that he’d have to keep his eye on.
Akria already had one thing to make sure didn’t end up hurting itself but now he had two. The man let out a deep sigh at the thought, pulling out a stick of gum. He had been trying to quit his smoking habit but any time he got stressed it was hard not to indulge. ”Man, this is going to be a drag.”
The Growlithe at his side let out an excited bark tugging at Akira’s pant leg. ”Right, this is your first mission isn’t it?” Akira bent down, petting the pup. It was no wonder the Pokémon was excited about today, this was what he was bred for after all. He couldn’t help but crack a bit of a smile at Growlithe’s eagerness.
Akira checked his watch; the time they were supposed to met their “partner” was close. As such the two made their way to the meeting spot, Prometheus leading the way due to his excitement to do well in this job.
A brow raised as the first thing Akira noticed was the bike and all the things were attached to it. His eyes then moved to the girl standing with the bike and her Pokémon nearby. ”Name’s Akira and this here is Prometheus.” He introduced himself, the Growlithe he mentioned happily running up to the other Ranger and her Pokémon.
”Ever deal with a situation like this before?” It was clear his intention was to gauge how much babysitting he was going to have to do here. He was already dealing with one newbie he didn’t want to have to deal with more.

[googlefont=Quicksand] I'M ALIVE FOR NOW BUT GOOD AS DEAD [break] Prick was on high alert. From the corner of her eye, Jenna watched the stubborn rodent stop his meandering, perking his ears and stilling his body, as he listened to the approaching noise. When his ears twitched down the direction of the road, she knew it meant her “partner” was almost there. Nidoran were perceptive creatures. It was just a shame she had to pick the most obstinate one from the lot. Maybe, with time, they could grow past his stubbornness. Until then, Jenna just prayed he wouldn't start any trouble. “There they are.” The girl had to raise a hand to shield her eyes from the sun, spying the two approaching figures from afar. “...Not what I thought I'd see.” When she first visualized her partner, she had expected the typical park ranger. Someone with a big brimmed hat and an even bigger smile; donned in the classic greens and browns. Maybe she would have gotten a “Howdy, fellow ranger!” Maybe a handshake. With this guy, all she got was a glare that could have rivaled her own. Some scruffy guy that didn't look too much older than her. Maybe a... five, six year difference? He was in his early twenties, Jenna could guess that much. Between the two arrivals, she chose to say hi to the Growlith first. “Hey, buddy.” The blue-haired ranger bowed down and let her hand dangle for him to get a good sniff. “Good boy.” Maybe she should have picked a Growlith? They were loyal companions, after all. Nice, social, friendly... Prick, on the other hand, looked annoyed with the energetic canine. When those two exchanged the “greeting sniff,” she could sense that her starter was ready to start a fuss. His hair was on end and she could see him lowering his head, getting ready to show off that small horn that he was so damn proud of. Prometheus was probably unaware of how aggressive the Nidoran could be. If Prick wanted to fight, he'd fight. “No, no you don't.” With both arms, she heaved the squirming Nidoran up. He wasn't going to start shit with someone they just met. “Sorry. This is Prick. He...uh, has that name for a reason.” Because he was prone to being a little shit. “I'm Jenna.” And before they could talk about the weather, her partner jumped straight to the point. A question about her experience? Already? Sheesh. “Uh, I used to live right down the road. I know how bad the Murkrow can get this time of year,” but that was before they got a big boss to order them around. She sensed that her answer did little to ease the situation. “I mean, we gonna hash out an interview, right here right now?” Jenna hoped not. “I passed all my training and did that whole shebang, okay? Ranger's honor. I'd flash a badge if they bothered to pass those out at my coronation.” Actually, she didn't even have a coronation. It was just a small ceremony in a parking lot before the graduating class decided to swing over to the nearest bar and pound drinks like there was no tomorrow– “Anyway, I'm not an expert at bird-wrangling, but I think we'll solve this little problem.”I CALL YOU BY YOUR ANCIENT NAME PHARAOH LEAP.

| Despite how much it annoyed Akira that Prometheus was as friendly as he was he couldn’t come to stay annoyed with the Growlithe for too long. However, at some point they were going to have to curb on eager he was to just approach random strangers and get all friendly, that could easily end up going poorly.
At least the girl didn’t seem to be bothered by Pro’s friendliness. Akira took this opportunity to study the girl once again, get a good gauge of her and the Pokémon at her side. There wasn’t anything that stood out to him, despite maybe thinking she was the type to either horde stuff or keeps an area cluttered.
The Nidoran on the hand was about to get punted if it kept up the aggressive attitude that was growing. Lucky enough for the little shit its trainer caught onto it as well and removed the Nidoran from the situation. Prick was an appropriate name, and Akira would find out soon enough it could apply to the trainer as well.
Her response was adequate enough, being a local would help out. But much to his disbelief, and mostly annoyance, she decided to keep going on and on. Akira did his best to not just put his hand over her face to shut her up.
When she was finally done yapping at him like a hungry Lilpup, Akira mentally let out a sigh. ”Well I just wanted a yes or no, hell that first answer was enough. But great kid, you passed training any idiot can get through. Don’t remember asking about that but congratulations, here’s a cookie.”
Akira pulled out his pack of smokes, again fighting his urge to pull one out. ”Just follow my lead and don’t do anything stupid.” The man put his smokes back and whistled for Pro to follow him as he started to make his way toward one of the more recent sites of incident.

[googlefont=Quicksand] I'M ALIVE FOR NOW BUT GOOD AS DEAD [break] Well, wasn't this guy pleasant. Jenna wondered how it was possible for his sour expression to become even worse. He was the one that started by staring her down like she was a toddler that rode up on a tricycle. What was wrong with trying to change that? She supposed trying to justify her existence only made it worse. Keeping her mouth shut would have yielded better results. She'd remember that. “Gee, thanks.” She snarked after he finished his evaluation, tempted to gesture where he could put that metaphorical cookie he offered; yet, she refrained. Mission first, right? ...Right? Jenna could only curse to herself, knowing that if she had listened to her gut, she could have skipped this bullshit altogether. Screw the mission. She could have snagged another job and delivered another package or something– Ranting wasn't going to help. She knew better. Huffing out her frustrations through her flared nostrils, the young Ranger realized it'd be best to push her frustrations somewhere else. Maybe on apprehending the thieves? That seemed like the best outlet. Stuffing her Nidoran into the front basket of the bike, Jenna hung her arms over the handlebars, watching as her “partner” went on ahead. “Prick.” She muttered, not referring to her own pokemon. Would it have been so hard to get paired with someone less miserable? What killed his mood? Lazily, she pushed one foot forward, letting the downward slope of the road carry her along. She recognized where he was going. Might as well follow along, even if she had already spent time scouting it out. Criminals always returned to the scene of a crime, after all. Unknown to the group, a shadow loomed in one of the trees. It watched the gleam of Jenna's bicycle, then shifted to the figure up ahead; looking for something smaller. Something it could carry... It wasn't shiny, but the shadow seemed to find its target. Small. Square. Paper? Nesting material. Good for the bossThere was a lone caw, then a raising of the wings as it disembarked; locked in. “Hm?” Keeping back, Jenna perked her head, swearing that she could have heard rustling in the trees. Even Prick noticed. The Nidoran had his ears perked, once again. “Shit, was that...?” She glanced the line of trees that flanked them on both sides. When nothing attacked her bags, she figured it was nothing of any concern, and turned her head back to Akira... just as something dark swept downward. I CALL YOU BY YOUR ANCIENT NAME PHARAOH LEAP.

| The typical happy-go-lucky Prometheus, who had not been paying attention to the back and forth between Akira and Jenna, could sense that there was something wrong with his trainer and nudged him to try and get his attention. Akira ignored him at first, knowing that this would just lead to the Growlithe trying to guilt him into feeling bad about how he was acting but eventually, and much like a fool, he looked down.
The look the pup was giving him could melt even the coldest frozen hearts. ”tch. Don’t give me that look.” Akira growled, asking himself what he did to deserve this.
The ranger went back to ignoring the pup, he wasn’t going to let him guilt him into feeling bad anymore. What was he going to do? Apologize? The fact that he was dwelling on it as much as he was just went to show how much the Growlithe had gotten to him.
”Pro, keep your guard up. Our thieving friends are probably watching us as we speak.” If they smart they were at least. Last thing they needed was to be suddenly swarmed by the Don’s goons and being robbed of everything they had. Hell, if they weren’t careful they might try to snatch the kid and her Nidoran.
Maybe that wouldn’t be too bad, be less that Akira would have to worry about. But explaining what happened and dealing with that would be a pain in the ass. Nah, dealing with her now was more of a pain than explaining that she got her dumbass taken away by some birds.
Prometheus’ expression turned to that of a serious one, the pup honing its senses to pick up on anything that could be going on around them. This was what he was born and trained for; the Growlithe wasn’t going to let his trainer and partner down on this job.
Something was off. Akira could feel it, Prometheus could feel it, the two stopped in their tracks. One could cut the tension in the air with a knife. The Growlithe let out a bark once he picked up on something, quickly grabbing Akira’s attention. But where was it? If the forest wasn’t so damn thick it’d be easier to pick up on where this little bastard was.
”You see it and you can, grab them or light them up.” Prometheus nodded at the order, fully understanding the situation. When something finally made its move and sweep down Prometheus lunged at it.

[googlefont=Quicksand] I'M ALIVE FOR NOW BUT GOOD AS DEAD 0575 words for Akira Okada houndour leveled from 5 to 7 Akira wasn't the only one with a furry companion. Jenna dropped her hand to her waist as the Murkrow soared down from the canopy. Finally, she had a chance to let her pokemon shine. Prick was ready to jump into action, but seemed to sense that his trainer wasn't going to use him for the first fight. He settled into the front basket of her bicycle; disgruntled as she cast out her pokeball with a wide toss. He'd get his chance to fight. He just had to wait. Besides, why waste his time and talent fighting these grunts? She was going to save him for the real fight; the fight with the Don. “Jenever!” Jenna shouted out as her Houndour sprung from its pokeball. “Use ember!” Jenever made contact with the ground, emerging from the red light with a maw full of crackling flames; she was small, but undaunted. Her appearance would have been frightening, if not for the wiggle of her snubbed tail. While the exuberant pup would not have hesitated to greet Prometheus, she knew that now was not the time. Jenna's command was obeyed. With a heavy exhale, the small houndour released the attack towards the second Murkrow that had flown down from the trees. As the brume of smoke and crackling embers engulfed the Murkrow, it seemed as though the attack had successfully hit its mark. The young Ranger hit the brakes, coming to a skidding halt to the outskirts of the battle. Her eyes squinted, struggling to see through the smoke–the Murkrow soared straight through it, piercing through the smoke as if it were a projectile. Using pursuit, it easily cruised through the embers and the pain, colliding into Jenever with its pointed claws. And as quickly as it swept in the attack, it backed off, using its wings to propel it backwards–into the air and out of the reach of Jenever. “Use leer. Its trying to bait out another attack.” Her houndour nodded, fixing the bird with a piercing gaze–a low rumble, a growl, seeping from the back of her throat. Maybe the glare had an effect. Jenna could see that the glare had ruffled the Murkrows feathers. In a fit of frustration, it was quick to attack once more; a peck. This time, Jenever was ready, hopping to the side of the sweeping attack. “Good! You know what to do next!” Jenna shouted out, seeing the trailing flames that leaked from the corners of Houndour's lips. She unleashed the ember attack. The Murkrow, who was struggling to catch itself, failed to evade. Another cloud of smoke and fire engulfed it... And when the smoke passed, she could see the burns on the bird as it tried to prepare itself for its next attack. It lunged with one final peck attack, managing to strike Jenever, before collapsing; defeated from the burn damage. Jenever released a loud yelp at the final attack, not expecting the bird to have survived the second ember. “Hey, hey. You're okay.” Jenna propped up her bike with the kickstand, moving over to Jenever's side as she held out a sitrus berry to the wounded pup. “You did really well. I'm proud.” Eating straight from her hand, the Houndour wagged what remained of her tail. That final attack may have stung, but the berry would make it better. Jenna glanced up, wondering how Akira was doing with the other Murkrow. JENEVER USED EMBER.
MURKROW USED PURSUIT.
JENEVER USED LEER.
MURKROW USED PECK. IT MISSED!
JENEVER USED EMBER. MURKROW WAS BURNED!
MURKROW USED PECK!
THE RESIDUAL BURN DAMAGE RENDERED THE MURKROW UNCONSCIOUS! I CALL YOU BY YOUR ANCIENT NAME PHARAOH LEAP.

| None of these sky rats were the don and ultimate were a waste of their time. But perhaps beating on them would grab the fat bird’s attention and get him to face them without having to send this fodder. Pro had missed and the birds were coming for another attack.
The damned trees made it difficult to keep track of the birds and their dark color made it even easier for them to hide like the god damn cowards that they are. A good hit in by Prometheus and he was sure that they’d be done for; Akira wanted to get this over with as quick as possible and keep looking.
And on top of that he couldn’t let Prometheus go too wild in this fight. An easy mishap could lead to the whole forest going ablaze and there was also the kid to worry about. Akira shook his head, the kid would be fine and if she couldn’t handle a situation like this she had no business being a ranger.
Prometheus continued his pursuit of the Murkrow, trying to grab a hold of the bird and put a stop to its attacking but was taking more blows than dishing them out. Akira knew this effort was pointless; the bird had the advantage here so they’d have to try something a bit rasher.
”Pro quit chasing it and let it come to you.” It was in this moment that Akira caught a glance of how Jenna was handling her own troubles. The appearance of the Houndour was noted, especially by Prometheus, and Akira hoped the kid was being careful with the flames.
The Murkrow, which was turning to being a more pain than it was worth, came in for another sweep. Its talons were ready to strike at the Growlithe below. Prometheus stood his ground, waiting for a follow up order from his trainer, prepared to take a blow if need be.
Akira waited, the Murkrow getting closer and closer to meeting its mark. ”Pro, use Crunch!” As soon as the bird’s talons were about to dig into the Growlithe the pup evaded the blow and captured the Murkrow in his jaws. Great, now they managed to catch the damn thing and now it was time to wrap this up.
”Flamethrower.” There was nowhere for the Murkrow to run and had a front row ticket to the fire show. Prometheus aimed up, releasing the stream of flames from his jaw. The attack consumed the Murkrow, Akira smirking a bit due to his annoyance with the damn thing.
Once the attack had finished Prometheus dropped the now toasted bird onto the ground, and hurried over to Akira’s side. That bird wasn’t getting up any time soon and hopefully the fireworks show from both Akira and Jenna’s Pokémon would attract the attention of the big boy.
If not, Akira had no problem burning more and more of his subordinates until he showed up. ”Good job, Pro.” Akira knelt down and petted the pup, checking up on the Growlithe. Once everything seemed okay Akira made his way over to Jenna, raising a brow at his Growlithe which had hurried over to greet the Houndour.
”Let’s keep moving; hopefully this show attracted the big guy’s attention.” Staying here wouldn’t have been the worse idea but Akira wanted to head to a spot where the Don was last supposedly seen.
Any other goons that decided to show their face would be met with the same fate as the two fried morons on the ground. It’d be pretty good training for Prometheus all things considered so while it might have been annoying there was something to gain from it.

[googlefont=Quicksand] I'M ALIVE FOR NOW BUT GOOD AS DEAD Both fights had concluded. Jenna took a moment to walk to the spots where her Houndour had cast ember, using the heel of her boot to suppress any remnants of the attack. The two Murkrow had been rendered unconscious; if any murkrow were watching, they would likely report back to the Don about what was happening. More trouble would be coming their way. It was just a matter of time. Unsure how to proceed, the young Ranger glanced back towards Jenever–just in time to spot her dark-type approach Prometheus. The two pokemon were practically touching noses as they greeted each other. Tails were wagging. It seemed like they were going to get along just fine. Jenna wasn't surprised. She knew her Houndour was sociable. The little pup had managed to make friends with a Blaziken, after all. Just a shame their trainers couldn't emulate that behavior. As Akira made his way over, the girl stuffed her hands into her pockets and averted her gaze to the side – to the woods, where the Murkrow had originally emerged. “We got two dogs. Why not use 'em to track down the big guy? Take the fight to him? I'm sure they can pick up a scent from the birds.” She would be amicable as long as he was. Mission first. “Jeni, try and see if you can smell anything.” The hyperactive dog had already started licking Prometheus as a friendly gesture, her tail wagging as fast as it could go. “We can play later, okay?”It was with a bit of reluctance that the Houndour moved away from the other fire-type, sniffing one of the unconscious birds. Even from a distance, Jenna knew they would be fine. In a few minutes, the troublemakers would pick themselves back up and move on with their day. I CALL YOU BY YOUR ANCIENT NAME PHARAOH LEAP.

| It was nice that Prometheus was making a friend; the Growlithe hadn’t gotten much time to socialize since partnering with Akira. Though for a moment the man thought perhaps they were being a bit too friendly, they had a mission to focus on after all and there would be time to play later.
The ranger’s gaze turned to the Murkrow that Prometheus had defeated, hoping they had not gone overboard and actually fried the poor bastard. Luckily the bird was still breathing, but it sure as hell wasn’t going to get up anytime soon that was for certain given the beating it took.
His attention then went back to Jenna, listening to the suggestion that she made. It wasn’t a half bad idea all things considered. ”Alright, we can try that.” Akira began, giving Pro a head nod to follow the Houndour’s lead.
”If not then we can keep going forward. The site I wanted to check was not only to give us some clues but would probably give us a better scent to track.” He watched the canine Pokémon sniff at the unconscious birds, watching the Houndour closer than Prometheus. Something had been on his mind since the Houndour had been summoned from his capsule.
”So you named her Jenever.” A brow raised and eyes judging the fellow ranger at his side as he said this. ”Any particular reason for that?” He was attempting to not be as blunt as he would have preferred, trying to play somewhat nice for Pro’s sake despite still not being that amicable.
It wouldn’t be long for the pups to pick up a scent for them to track down the big bird. Good, Akira didn’t know how to small talk and his version of small talk nine times out of ten came off as an insult.

If I can't evade my fate
[attr="class","therivmid"] [attr="class","therivmid1"] It seemed like Jenever had caught a scent. The moment Jenna glanced in her direction, the small Houndour ran over and started to circle around the Rangers as fast as she could. She danced, spun, and seemed overjoyed to have caught a trail. “Woah, woah, girl.” The enthused dark-type balanced on her hind-legs, excitedly drumming her front paws against Jenna's legs. It could have warmed the cockles of even the coldest of hearts. For a moment, it even managed to coax a smile out of the blue-haired trainer.[break][break] “I think they caught on to something. If the trail runs cold, we can swing by the site you were talking about. That'd be our next best option,” but she liked the idea of catching the obnoxious birds by surprise. They had been terrorizing Choji for the last month. Why not return the favor? Jenna brought her hand down to Jenever, brushing a hand against her short, prickly fur. “Yes, yes. You're a good girl.” She praised.[break][break] He asked a question that did not pertain to the mission. The girl was almost surprised, glancing up from Jenever to see if Akira was trying to start a conversation. “Because she's full of spirit.” The girl replied without hesitation. Naming pokemon had never been her forte. Her team had become a ragtag band with no name relating to the other. “I didn't want to name her Whiskey or Bourbon. Didn't seem girly enough.” So, Jenever had been the next pick.[break][break] The Houndour dismounted and ran a way down the road, only to stop as far as she felt comfortable going. She turned back, barking, as she waited for them to start moving. “She's a handful. In a good way. Not like the other one.” She didn't have to say who she was referring to, because the Nidoran was glaring at them from the tiny basket at the front of her bicycle.[break][break][break] PHARAOH LEAP CREATES [googlefont=Roboto:400,700] [googlefont=Montserrat:300,700] [googlefont=Raleway:300,400,800] [newclass=.theriv]width:535px;background-color:#f7f7f7;text-align:justify;color:#444444;letter-spacing:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivtop]border-left:solid 35px #444444;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivtop1]border:solid 1px #e3e3e3;border-left:none;padding:39px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivimg]height:100px;width:100px;padding:14px;background-color:#f3f3f3;border:solid 1px #e3e3e3;border-radius:100%;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivimg img]height:100px;width:100px;border-radius:100%;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivlyric]font:25px Montserrat;line-height:20px;padding-bottom:12px;white-space:nowrap;letter-spacing:-2px;color:#444444;padding-top:10px;text-shadow:1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px 1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px -1px 0px #ffffff;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivnotes]max-height:28px;overflow:auto;padding-right:9px;text-align:justify;color:#bbbbbb;font:12px raleway;text-shadow:1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px 1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px -1px 0px #ffffff;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivnotes::-webkit-scrollbar]width:1px;background-color:#f7f7f7!important;border:none!important;border-radius:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivnotes::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color:#e3e3e3!important;border:none!important;border-radius:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivnotes div]font:bold 15px Raleway;text-transform:uppercase;margin:0px 15px 0px 0px;float:left;color:#506276;line-height:28px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivtop2]font:bold 7px Raleway;line-height:7px;letter-spacing:1px;text-transform:uppercase;font-weight:800!important;padding-top:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivtop2 b, .therivtop2 a]font:bold 7px Raleway;line-height:7px;color:#506276!important;font-weight:800!important;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivlyric2]border-right:solid 1px #e3e3e3;border-bottom:solid 1px #e3e3e3;background-color:#f3f3f3;padding:39px 0px;text-align:center;font:37px Montserrat;line-height:30px;text-shadow:1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px 1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px -1px 0px #ffffff;color:#999999;font-style:italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivlyric2 i]color:#506276;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmidd]border-left:solid 35px #506276;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmid]border-left:solid 35px #e3e3e3;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmid1]border:solid 1px #e3e3e3;border-left:none;border-top:none;padding:49px;font:10px Verdana;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmid1 font]font:bold 11px Roboto;color:#506276;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmid1 b]font:bold 11px Roboto;color:#999999;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmid1 i]font:11px Roboto;font-style:italic;[/newclass]

| The hounds had caught onto a scent and while it wasn’t possible to tell yet as to whether or not it was a strong one they at least had somewhat of a lead. Akira had the sneaking suspicion that even if the trial got cold or this was leading them on a wild goose chase, their target would eventually reveal themselves.
Hell, there was a decent enough chance that they were being watched right now. And seeing how these two goons weren’t going anywhere any time soon there’d be some sort of retaliation for this affront. Good, Akira preferred to settle this with flames.
This “spirit” must have been contagious as Pro, who had been backing the Houndour up with the tracking, was much more enthused than usual. Akira had his own suspicion as to what was going on with him but it was definitely something to take note of.
Being more eager to work for whatever reason was welcomed. If the Growlithe got too distracted or decided that the mission wasn’t of the upmost of importance Akira would set him straight. The Pokémon could have a little play date some other time when they didn’t have to deal with a bird goon squad.
”Well it’s not a terrible name.” Akira wasn’t one who could really talk about naming Pokémon. The ranger didn’t think he was bad at naming, despite not being the reason why Pros’ name was the way it was. Akira understood the troubles that came with having an energetic, almost over the top at times, Pokémon one had to take care of.
Prometheus was well behaved for sure but he had his moment where he was a handful. The pup was naturally an extremely loving and energetic mon so it was no surprise that he could get all over the place. But when it came to work the Growlithe was focused, as he was now tracking the scent. "These two make a good team."

If I can't evade my fate
[attr="class","therivmid"] [attr="class","therivmid1"] Jenever and Prometheus seemed... close.[break][break] The Rangers had both noticed the ways their pokemon were responding to one another. Her Houndour and his Growlithe had hit it off. They were side by side, getting along as if they were old litter-mates. Jenna had to admit that the sight was... cute, but the job had to come first. “Mhm. They're about the same age, too.” She remarked as her eyes scanned the trees. Just like Akira, she was aware of the possibility that their enemy was lurking close by.[break][break] Eventually, the trail lead them somewhere secluded. The trees had receded, opening to a small clearing where tall grass reached towards the sky without interference. The minute she saw the sight, she felt bad vibes. It was too spacious. Too open. Her eyes darted to her partner, wondering if he felt the same.[break][break] “Is this the place you were talking about?” Had their dogs lead them to where he had originally wanted to go?[break][break] And criminals always returned to the scene of the crime. “Jenever, come here.” The pup turned back, looking to her owner. “You did a good job, but you'd be easy pickings out here,” and she withdrew the pup, much to Prometheus' disappointment.[break][break] With a flash of the hand, the girl chose to expel her flying type from his pokeball. Sterling landed on her shoulder, as sleepy and docile as ever. “If something happens, he can fight them on their own playing field. I guess we should check this out place out, too.”[break][break] It felt like she was entering a crime scene.[break][break] Her eyes darted from left to right. With each step, she'd spy something new glittering at her. The sun would reflect on the scattered objects. Bowing down, the Ranger held up a... pocket watch? This didn't seem like a base of operations. “Is this their drop-off?” She asked Akira, holding up the goods. The Murkrow might be dumping their loot here, knowing that their boss could come by and sort through it. "Shit, there's even Poke'Navs here."[break][break][break] PHARAOH LEAP CREATES [googlefont=Roboto:400,700] [googlefont=Montserrat:300,700] [googlefont=Raleway:300,400,800] [newclass=.theriv]width:535px;background-color:#f7f7f7;text-align:justify;color:#444444;letter-spacing:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivtop]border-left:solid 35px #444444;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivtop1]border:solid 1px #e3e3e3;border-left:none;padding:39px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivimg]height:100px;width:100px;padding:14px;background-color:#f3f3f3;border:solid 1px #e3e3e3;border-radius:100%;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivimg img]height:100px;width:100px;border-radius:100%;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivlyric]font:25px Montserrat;line-height:20px;padding-bottom:12px;white-space:nowrap;letter-spacing:-2px;color:#444444;padding-top:10px;text-shadow:1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px 1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px -1px 0px #ffffff;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivnotes]max-height:28px;overflow:auto;padding-right:9px;text-align:justify;color:#bbbbbb;font:12px raleway;text-shadow:1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px 1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px -1px 0px #ffffff;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivnotes::-webkit-scrollbar]width:1px;background-color:#f7f7f7!important;border:none!important;border-radius:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivnotes::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color:#e3e3e3!important;border:none!important;border-radius:0px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivnotes div]font:bold 15px Raleway;text-transform:uppercase;margin:0px 15px 0px 0px;float:left;color:#506276;line-height:28px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivtop2]font:bold 7px Raleway;line-height:7px;letter-spacing:1px;text-transform:uppercase;font-weight:800!important;padding-top:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivtop2 b, .therivtop2 a]font:bold 7px Raleway;line-height:7px;color:#506276!important;font-weight:800!important;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivlyric2]border-right:solid 1px #e3e3e3;border-bottom:solid 1px #e3e3e3;background-color:#f3f3f3;padding:39px 0px;text-align:center;font:37px Montserrat;line-height:30px;text-shadow:1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px 1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 0px 0px #ffffff, 0px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px 1px 0px #ffffff, 1px -1px 0px #ffffff, -1px -1px 0px #ffffff;color:#999999;font-style:italic;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivlyric2 i]color:#506276;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmidd]border-left:solid 35px #506276;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmid]border-left:solid 35px #e3e3e3;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmid1]border:solid 1px #e3e3e3;border-left:none;border-top:none;padding:49px;font:10px Verdana;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmid1 font]font:bold 11px Roboto;color:#506276;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmid1 b]font:bold 11px Roboto;color:#999999;[/newclass] [newclass=.therivmid1 i]font:11px Roboto;font-style:italic;[/newclass]

Jenna was not the only one who had felt bad vibes the moment they stepped foot in the more secluded area. The whole situation just screamed trap to Akira. They had made it over to what was essentially their treasure cove with little to not opposition. And once inside they basically had free run of the place because no one was home. [break][break]
Even if the ranger didn’t have his suspicions already he couldn’t shake the feeling of eyes watching over them, shadows waiting for their moment to reveal themselves and strike. It just goes to show the coordination of the birds, even if they had to work on their tactics. [break][break]
”More or less.” Akira responded, focusing more so on their surroundings than what Jenna had asked him. Now that the Houndour had been recalled Pro returned to his trainer’s side, looking up to the man for directions, the two pups had done a good job bringing them here. [break][break]
The Ranger made a quick glance in Jenna’s direction as she released her Rufflet, her reasoning behind the swap in Pokémon was a solid one. Now moving forward, Akira was careful to not miss anything as he scanned the area with Prometheus at his side and doing the same. [break][break]
The sheer amount of items that had been brought here was a bit surprising. Akira understood that they had been at it for some time but they definitely worked faster than he expected. ”Seems like it.” Akira began, bending down to pick up something and giving it a look over after eyeing what Jenna had in her hands. [break][break]
”Wouldn’t be surprised if there was another cache somewhere else. Boss probably has a private collection of stuff he wants to keep to himself away from the greedy claws of his goons.” As he finished Pro began growling. [break][break]
That wasn’t a good sign. Akira stood up straight, looking around to the forestry that surrounded them, trying to spot whatever it was that had the Growlithe on edge. It’d make sense that they’d make their move now. They had invaders in their shit, messing with it, and if there was one thing they wouldn’t let slide was their stash and hard work being ruined. [break][break]
”Pro, if the boss doesn’t show up set the whole place in flames.” This was of course a bluff, there were so many thing wrong with starting a serious fire in the middle of the forest but he wanted to draw the boss out. The goods getting turned to ash was bad for business.
