Even when Jenna was surrounded by people and civilization, there were still pokemon to be found.[break][break]

Jenna scooped up her Togepi, holding the egg-type in both arms as she stepped down from the stoop and back onto the streets of Enju City. Tink may have been enamored with the sight, but the Ranger was not as impressed. She had been to this place too many times. To her, it was no different from any other place in Johto; just another small town that was trying to clutch to their old ways as modernization slowly crept closer and closer.[break][break]

“Remember. No metronome,” Jenna warned the Togepi as she cradled her. She knew that Tink was overly dependent on the strange move. The moment there was an obstacle, the small fairy would wiggle her finger to try and blow it away. It was always overkill. Tink only grumbled out a reply, feeling lazy after gorging herself on a lunch that was far too big for a pokemon of her size. The fairy refused to admit that the Ranger had been right. Maybe the Togepi was starting to feel sick?[break][break]

That was when a wild Sneasel appeared. The mischievous dark-type darted out from a nearby alley, knocking over trashcans and shoving against people on the street as it tried to make a daring escape; a purse was clutched in its claws. The little thief must have seen something shiny attached to the bag that had attracted its attention.[break][break]

Jenna tapped the top of the egg's head. The dark-type was charging their way. Tink gave a loud, dramatic sigh as she gave a wave of the hands. At first, it had seemed as if the hand motion had done nothing, but then there would be a sudden crackle as multiple small pebbles and loose rocks floated from the ground and launched at the Sneasel, pelting it with an array of rocks. Tink had used Ancient Power.[break][break]

Maybe it would have been best to set down her pokemon? Jenna felt that thought cross her mind when the Sneasel prepared to retaliate, raising both hands as it expelled a cold gust of wind in her direction. The Ranger had to dodge out of the range of the cold burst, watching snowflakes materialize from the moisture; Icy Wind?[break][break]

“Let's rinse and repeat.” Tink deployed another assault of rocks, pummeling their foe until the thief collapsed, unable to continue. At that point, the original owner of the purse appeared, taking it back from the unconscious pokemon.

Her bicycle spokes spun rhythmically as she peddled down the empty street.[break][break]

After the encounter with the mischievous dark-type pokemon, the Ranger had to get back on task. She had a job to do. A parcel was neatly bound with parchment paper and twine, resting in the front basket of her bike. As the wheels bounced on every dip in the cobblestone road, Jenna was counting the addresses, dividing her attention between riding her bike and looking for her destination.[break][break]

Tink was taking in the sights, the smells, and the people. The modern scenery seemed to fascinate the fairy-type with its alien-like wonder. The Ranger could only watch her the hatchling with amusement. If she thought this place was something, maybe she should swing by one of the bigger cities? Enju was tame compared to the other cities.[break][break]

“There it is. Hold on. I'll be right back.” The Ranger came to a stop when she reached her destination. Grabbing the parcel, she left Tink to her own devices as she walked to her destination; a normal house. After ringing the doorbell and spending a few moments to converse with her client, the Courier accepted payment and was ready to return to her bike–[break][break]

“The heck?” Jenna replied to the situation that was unfolding. A wild Vespiquen made the mistake of trying to tamper with the aggressive fairy-type. The Ranger could only watch with disbelief as her egg-pokemon wiggled her fingers, summoning metronome and–[break][break]

Togepi suddenly jumped from the basket. Her tiny, stubby hand was raised and glowed with an unknown energy. With one mighty swing, she brough that glowing limb down upon the floating bug-type, slamming her down to the ground with a downward chop; Tink had used Smack Down.[break][break]

“That was not what I expected to see.” Before Tink could try to use another metronome, Jenna chucked an empty Great Ball from her waist, hoping to catch the bee before her Togepi could unleash an attack that could not be so easily contained. “...Thanks for picking a move that didn't cause massive damage to our surroundings.” Tink gave a shrug, trying to deny that she had picked something less flashy on purpose.
