[googlefont=Roboto Condensed] "Let's not go outside just yet," he decided. The previous encounter with a Gyarados still had him shaken a bit. No one knows what kind of Pokemon would jump on them should they decide to leave the confines of the ship's walls after all. Choosing to go ahead and lead the way up the stairway, he would stop midway and turn to Mirai for a slight nod of his head. "Oh, and why thank you."He felt like having Mirai choose which way to go would have been the better decision. Knowing how his luck turns out on many occasions, he figured someone else should be in charge when it came to things that involved chance. Then again, it wasn't like they couldn't just visit the hatch that led to the deck outside after a visit. The stairway leading up led to a floor with nothing but a single door blocking their way. Despite how old it looked, the door still failed to open after Kyle tried to work his way on the door knob. It was old and rusty anyways that it might have affected the mechanisms of the lock, though that was not the only trick he knew to open doors. Picking locks was a skill he was trying to learn, but that was a skill not to be used today. Raising a foot, a quick kick by the knob busted the door open. Rust had made it easier to destroy, with the door swinging wide open and revealing the bridge of the ship to the pair. "Tada," he'd chant nonchalantly upon the reveal. "Looks like a treasure trove to me." MADE BY NOVA

Mirai chuckled a bit. It was good that Kyle was still in good spirits. She wasn't expecting him to actually kick down the door but that was one way to keep going. Floatzel and Floette who were standing behind Mirai were also slightly startled when he did so. The Sea Weasel Pokemon volunteered to go in first and make sure there wasn't anything dangerous waiting for them. Mirai followed soon after.
Compared to the other rooms she had seen in the ship, the bridge appeared to be the most intact. Well, the wear and tear from the many years that had passed was showing, but otherwise the set up looked almost untouched. There was a single shelf on one side with some old books and records. They would probably find the ship's log there if they looked. Chairs and other loose furniture had been scattered about likely from the ship's rocking. The navigational equipment were intact but in all likelihood were dead. There were a few drawers to check too. At the very center of the room was an old fashioned steering wheel that was now rusted all over. She wondered if it could even still turn.
"Indeed it does look like we might find some valuable things here. The door knob being broken like that must have discouraged people from trying to get in. It looks mostly untouched."
She wasn't really that sure what sort of things Kyle would consider as treasure. From a monetary perspective, the old equipment in the room could probably fetch a decent price somewhere but they were hardly equipped to take home such things. Mirai would be satisfied with a small souvenir.

[googlefont=Roboto Condensed] "I like it. Let's see what we can find."Kyle went ahead and stepped into the bridge. He had never been on this part of the ship before, a desolate one or otherwise, and so part of Kyle's curiosity was sated. A layer of dust accumulated over everything, along with the dank smell of mildew and mold mixing in with the salty ocean scent. It was what Kyle had imagine an old ship's bridge would look like, fitting the art assets of games he played sharing the same setting. His attention went to the consoles, fiddling around the controls and expecting nothing much to happen from doing so. The whole thing was in disarray for a long time now and it would be impossible for any of its components to still be working. His attention went to the captain's seat by the terminals, wasting no time to get himself to try it. A cloud of dust wafted through the air as he seated himself, his clothes easily getting dirty just from the moment it touched the furniture. From his position, he found a rather old cap on the floor nearby. Wasting no time, his hand grabbed it from his position and dusted it off with the other. It fitted nicely on his head, and he did not even need to look for a mirror to see if it suited him. "I'm the captain now," he'd declare in a monotone voice as he turned to Mirai. MADE BY NOVA

Kyle was having a lot of fun with this. When he put on the old cap and proclaimed his captaincy, Mirai played along a bit by doing a quick salute while stifling her laughter. The hat looked good but it was the absurdity of the whole thing that was amusing her.
While Mirai had a look around herself, Floatzel and Floette headed back outside to keep watch. Mirai had more interest in the shelf with books and records rather than the old equipment. She reached for one that looked like a logbook of sorts but as soon as she turned the cover open the first few pages began to crumble. She quickly shut it closed again in an attempt to preserve it. She wondered how long had these things been here considering the paper had already begun to fall apart from age and wear. Returning the book to the shelf, she then walked over to the rusted steering wheel and tried to turn it with one hand. It was rusted stuck as expected. It barely budged from the meager effort she put in trying to get it to move. Just as she was going to have a look at the drawers, an audible call from Floatzel would interrupt her browsing and prompt her to step outside to see what was up.
"That's Floatzel-kun calling. I'll check it out for a bit."
Mirai ran into Floette as soon as she stepped out of the bridge. It seemed Floatzel had headed back down to the passageway earlier. The Single Bloom Pokemon led the way and when Mirai finally spotted her other partner a salty sea breeze blew past her face. The hatch that led outside to the deck had been torn off its hinges by a certain Pokemon, a Crawdaunt, and it was now heading inside. It didn't look like it was there to make friends. It raised one of its claws to try and strike Floatzel but Floette immediately responded by extending her vines to try and restrain the Rogue Pokemon. It was quite effective and Mirai could see from how Crawdaunt struggled that her partner was much stronger. This shouldn't be too difficult.
"Nice one Floette-kun! No need to hold back. Crawdaunt was the one who came in here picking a fight. Moonblast now!"
With the narrow passageway and vines holding it in place, the Rogue Pokemon had no choice but to take the full brunt of the super effective attack. Crawdaunt was literally blasted back out through the hatch opening and likely wasn't coming back anytime soon. Thanks to him though the way out to the deck was now wide open. Mirai was about to head back up to the bridge when she heard the sound of shattering glass. She was confident Kyle could deal with any problems but of course she would still want to to check on a friend.

[googlefont=Roboto Condensed] "Good luck. The captain will be here, doing... captain things."He watched Mirai leave the room after hearing the cry of her Floatzel. He supposed that the Water-type felt some wild Pokemon in the vicinity or something, which he didn't stress on too much. Kyle too wondered what could have made the warning since the only instances of Pokemon attacks they had was with them trespassing on their territories or walking up to them. This instance, however, could not be describe as such. His question was quickly answered not a moment after Mirai had left him alone. A mantine came flying from the sea, smacking itself at the glass pane that separated the bridge and the outside and shattering it into shards. The first reflex was to grab the first thing he could get his hands on, which had been the cap he already had gotten fond of, and threw it at the Mantine's face, buying him enough time to back away and regroup with his Pokemon by the entrance. His Rockruff had been growling while his Leafeon immediately readied his stance for a fight, the hairs on its back standing on its ends. He had the option to use both of them, but given the typing of their opponent, he figured he'd rather not risk his Rockruff especially since it was just starting to get used to being near water. "Leafeon, you're up."As soon as the words left his mouth, he could feel his Rockruff's spirits waver while his Leafeon's rise. The Grass-type immediately sprung into action, pouncing at the Mantine and swatted its face with Covet and conveniently throwing the cap back at his trainer's direction. It landed on the Rockruff's face, almost dispelling the sadness it harbored at that decision, as it generated more angry barking from the canine. The Mantine flopped on the ground and onto the broken glass, firing off Psybeams at random directions just to get the Leafeon out of its face. The once pristine condition of the well-preserved room was ruined in a second, and the least Kyle could do was to control the damage from being dealt further. "Magical Leaf." It was with those words that finally got the Mantine to stop, forcibly to say at least. Multicolored leaves left cuts on the large marine Pokemon and ended its rampage. "Let's, uh, wait for Mirai, yeah?" he mentioned to his Pokemon. Defeated Mantine MADE BY NOVA

"Hey, are you alright?"
Mirai finally made it back up to the bridge. Upon arriving there it looked like Kyle had troubles of his own too. The sound of breaking glass she heard earlier was a result of something crashing in through the window. The room was also hardly in the great condition it was in earlier. It was a shame. The culprit appeared to be a Mantine but it had already been dealt with.
"Oh dear, that doesn't look so good. So a Pokemon tried to get inside through here too."
Mirai pondered for a moment at their unusual behavior. As far as she knew, she and Kyle had done nothing to attract attention or get Wild Pokemon angry at them. Perhaps the source of the aggression was something else.
"Back downstairs, a Crawdaunt tore open the hatch leading outside to the deck and tried to get inside too. Maybe there's something outside scaring them?"
She offered up the idea on a whim. As a ranger Kyle would have more experience about this sort of thing. She wasn't as helpful when it came to scenarios you couldn't read about in a book. If there really was some sot of problem, the origin was almost certainly on the exterior of the ship. If Kyle suggested that they check it out, she would be all for it. She actually found it a little exciting but she knew she had to stay wary of any possible danger.

[googlefont=Roboto Condensed] "Maybe," Kyle started, humoring the point that Mirai had showed. "Maybe they're just protecting their home? I saw a Dewgong make a nest out of a room earlier too, but I don't know if that's just a coincidence or not."He wasn't sure of what the source was but it was clear that something was acting as a force to get the wild Pokemon to act aggressive towards them. "Either way, we should probably get going." He wasn't sure if there would be larger and more dangerous Pokemon that would come to get them later, and being in such a confined space, while comforting for Kyle, brought more hazards should they have to fight Pokemon in such close quarters. The Pokemon he has on hand could work on the limited space, but being careful was always an option he'd gladly take. He started to head outside of the bridge and back to the corridors that split the ship into its many rooms. As he got in, a cry of a Pokemon echoed through the passage from the other end, telling them that the way they came from could possibly be blocked by another Pokemon. "Ugh. Looks like we do have to go through that hatch." He wasn't a fan of the idea, but it was better than have to fight back in there where an opening from the sea was big enough to fit a Gyarados. One Gyarados encounter was enough for a day for Kyle. MADE BY NOVA

Understandably when they went back down the stairs, Kyle preferred to head back in the direction they came. They had ascertained it was safe earlier and the last couple of encounters had come from Pokemon outside. But the cry of a certain Pokemon coming from that direction would tell them that it was no longer as safe as they had thought. Before they stepped outside, Mirai recalled Floette as she had been battling for some time now and who knew what dangers awaited them on the deck. Mirai needed someone fresh on the front lines just in case.
The deck of the ship looked wild. While the inside was mostly in decent shape, nature had taken over the exposed deck. Seaweed and rocks could be seen all around. There were also holes here and there and other forms of damage that was almost certainly caused by Pokemon. Mirai walked over to the rails to check for a bit at how the side of the ship looked. Before she could lean over and see anything however, something big would bump into the ship causing her to nearly lose her balance she she grabbed on to the rusted railing for support. It was a Wailmer and for some reason it was trying to get on the boat. It disappeared below the water for a moment, but seconds later it would leap out and land on the deck, the impact and weight of which would cause the ship to start tipping over a bit.
"That's not good. Roserade-kun I need your assistance!"
The Bouquet Pokemon would emerge from her Pokeball with a twirl, though she nearly lost her balance as well due to Wailmer tilting the ship.
"Let's force it out. This ship won't last long with in on top. Full power, Petal Blizzard!"
Seeing that Roserade was about to attack it, Wailmer bounced up again to try and attack with Heavy Slam by crashing down right on top of her. Wailmer however was met by a powerful tornado of flower petals that not only countered its attack but also lifted it up higher in the air. Though it was big, its level wasn't that high and it was taking huge damage from the storm of petals. The force of the super effective attack threw it off the ship and back into the water. It wasn't going to be bothering them again anytime soon.
"The ship is getting unsteady. I hate to say it but we should probably get off soon."

When the Wailmer attempted to bring itself onto the ship, Kyle's first reaction was to grip onto something to hold him into place and using his free hand to get a Pokeball out and recall his Rockruff. It had started to get used to the concept of boats and water and it would be a shame if Kyle had to coax him back to it should it get traumatized right away. His Leafeon should manage on his own for a while.
His opinion on the matter quickly changed as soon as a shadow ran past them. Turning his head to the sky, a metallic bird circled above them before swooping in. Clicking his tongue, he recalled his Leafeon and then released his Samurott in exchange. The number of Pokemon he could use has decreased basically him and his Manectric, and he supposed he'd rather not have any collateral damage in knocking the Skarmory out.
"Hydro Pump!"
Just as the Skarmory swooped in to get into the ship, a burst of water was shot from the Samurott onto the dual-type. The move managed to hit it on one of its wings, clipping them momentarily to disrupt its flight, though it recovered back into the air soon before it reached the water's surface. The pressure and force in the vortex of water was enough to dissuade the Skarmory from going in further, fortunately, and had gotten it to fly away.
"Y-Yeah," he agreed halfheartedly. "Lost my cap somewhere along the way, but that shouldn't be important right now." He clutched his Lapras' Pokeball on his hand, contemplating on releasing it as a raft or something similar while keeping his Samurott out in case wild Pokemon do attempt to fight them. "You got your own traspo, right, and maybe another Pokemon to cover for us in case wild Pokemon attack?" he asked Mirai as he turned towards her. The answer was obviously yes, but it didn't hurt to make sure.
"Yeah, let's leave this place."

⟣that's something special⟢ Mirai was reluctant to leave so soon as well but today's adventure was starting to get a little bit too dangerous. Kyle shared the same sentiment. When he asked if she had her own means to get off the place, she recalled Roserade and Floatzel back and sent out Altaria in their place. The Humming Pokemon flapped her wings once before landing beside Mirai.
"Yes, I have my way back covered. Thanks for asking."
She felt the ship slightly lurch again as well as heard a couple of loud noises coming from below deck. It probably wasn't a good idea to stick around to see what made those sounds. She quickly climbed on Altaria's back and prepared to depart. But as Altaria stretched out her wings, she felt her movements suddenly stiffen as though an invisible force was retraining her. Mirai noticed something was a miss and looked around. Behind them, she spotted one of the portholes on the ship staring at them with glowing blue eyes.
Mirai blinked, realizing it was likely another Pokemon, though definitely one of the more bizarrely shaped ones. After squinting her eyes a bit, she finally identified it as a Bronzor. Altaria couldn't battle while carrying her. Kyle was right in suggesting having another Pokemon out to cover for them.
"Delphox-kun, I need your assistance! Mystical Fire!"
The silver-colored Fox Pokemon appeared in a flash of light, his coat glistening in the sunshine. Realizing Mirai's predicament, he aimed his stick at the offending Bronzor and blasted it at full power with a torrent of flames. The heat and heavy damage forced the Bronze Pokemon fly out of the wall it was sticking to before it got knocked out. It stared at Mirai and her partners angrily and attempted to attack them again with a psychic attack but Delphox noticed this and nullified it with his own psychic power.
"Let's not take too long with this. Finish it off with another Mystical Fire!"
A second blast of flames would engulf Bronzor and finally knock it out but it was in danger of falling into the ocean. She had no intention of letting a Pokemon just drown and she figured she could probably find some use for it. And so she threw a Great Ball at the unconscious Pokemon which ricocheted back to her hand as the captured Bronze Pokemon disappeared inside it. She also recalled Delphox back to his ball after making sure the coast was clear for them to take off, addressing Kyle as they did.
"I had fun today. It's shame we had to cut the trip short. Let's have another adventure some time!"
Waving goodbye, Altaria would take to the skies with Mirai departing, assuming nothing else stopped them.

He gave a nod and a salute with Mirai's parting message. Her shiny Delphox particularly caught his attention, though he made no mention of it seeing as they were in the process of escaping the chaos that seemed to plague the ship. They could hang around for a few moments, but Kyle knew either of them did not want to prolong their time aboard the ship. A Gyarados attack and a sudden frenzy of wild Pokemon was enough to turn him off.
"Lapras!"
He released the Transport Pokemon into the sea, jumping and getting off the ship as soon as he saw Mirai take off to the skies after capturing the Pokemon that attacked them. The height made him decide to land on the water instead of his Pokemon's protective shell on her back, and only climbing onto it afterwards.
A Golduck appeared from the waters, as if waiting for them below. His Lapras backed away at it, unsure of the approach she was going to take. Kyle's hand on its head got it to calm down for the most part. Clicking his tongue at its appearance, he stared up to where his Samurott was, still aboard the ship. "Samu, attack!" It was then that he realized that perhaps he should have recalled him back to his ball beforehand.
Jumping from the top and basically doing a cannonball, his Samurott's weight pressed against the Golduck as he fell from above. Being a great swimmer, however, the wild Pokemon managed to quickly recover from underneath the surface of the water. "Megahorn." As soon as the Golduck came back up to the surface, the Samurott quickly thrust its horn at it, wounding it on the shoulder and forcing it to back away, leaving a trail of blood as it swam.
"We should get going," he reminded his Lapras. He kept his Samurott out of its ball, since it wasn't like the Water-type minded swimming all the way back to shore anyways.
