His mind cleared as he continued to walk deeper into the Safari Zone. Surprisingly, he had yet to lay eyes on a Pokemon, hell even another trainer. It was empty, or at least the part of the zone he was in had nobody around. Scratching the back of his head, he decided to go towards the pond of water that was only a bit away from his current location. [break][break]

As he got closer, he noticed a weird looking blue Pokemon. It was almost like a snake, but not really. He drew his PokeDex and pointed it at the creature. It relayed the information through it's robotic voice. "Luck is on my side today!" He exclaimed to himself. A Dratini, which was a Dragon Pokemon, stood a few meters away from him. And it was the first Pokemon he met in the zone. Spade was going to use all of his Safari Balls to capture this beauty if that's what it took. [break][break]

"Zeus! Come on out buddy. You're going to help me capture this Dratini." On came out his Electabuzz, known as Zeus. Corny right? Who the fuck cared, not Spade. It was a name befitting such a solid Pokemon, especially with the potential he was capable of. Spade was going to mold this man into a God worthy of the name Zeus. [break][break]

The Dratini noticed the two of them from the corner of it's eyes and readied itself. It seemed to have survived a few encounters with trainers before Spade's arrival. It was almost like this was meant to be. Regardless, he still needed to capture the Pokemon, and lead his Electabuzz to victory in the process. "Zeus, start with quick attack!" It was an odd thing to watch such a bulky Pokemon move that quickly, but it worked, and the resulting damage was usually pretty significant. Unfortunately, the Dratini took the blow and began to Wrap itself around the Electabuzz. A poor move on the Dratini's part, though it wasn't it's fault that it didn't know what Zeus was capable of. As the Pokemon wrapped itself around Zeus, Spade smiled. This was his first time using Zeus in an actual battle after capturing the Pokemon a few days ago. "Now Zeus! Thunder Shock!" On top of the static ability that surrounded Zeus's body, a shock of thunder enveloped the two of them as Dratini was caught with no where to go. Now the Dratini was paralyzed, and badly damaged. Though the quick attack earlier didn't fully connect, it still chipped away at it's health. The following thunder shock paired with the paralysis should have been enough to weaken the 'Mon for capture. But, it seemed to be a stubborn Pokemon so only time would tell. [break][break]

"You are going to be mine." He shouted, releasing a PokeBall he had drew from his hip at the injured Dratini. As the patented red light enveloped the Pokemon, and the ball landed on the floor, Spade waited to see the outcome.

As Spade looked on in anticipation, his anxiety was cut short as the damn thing escaped almost instantly. To make matters worse, or maybe better, the fucking thing smashed his ball into the stands. It was like he knew he just hit a home run, the way the fucker was staring at Spade. "I like you. I need feisty Pokemon. This ain't over yet." He gritted his teeth, thinking of a plan. No time was given to the challenger as the Dratini immediately fired off a Twister. A good attack, but a weak one. It caught Zeus in the middle, but it didn't do much. For such a stubborn Pokemon, it still had a lot of work to do. [break][break]

"Zeus, lunge forward and hit Dratini with a LOW KICK." He shouted at his Pokemon. Zeus was now visibly annoyed. He didn't fuck around, and he hated being caught in that twister. It messed up his hair, and made him feel weird. He was going to get retribution, and it was going to happen now. The Electabuzz escaped the fading Twister and launched a low kick into the slithering fucker's slimy body. [break][break]

The attack connected, but the Dratini simply shrugged it off like 'oh that's all you got?'. Spade was feeling both annoyed and in love. It's as if his dream of having a Pokemon team he loved was coming true right before his eyes. Each of his Pokemon had their own personality that he loved, and this Dratini was showing the fight and feistiness it took to be apart of his squad. Again though, stubbornly, it used wrap. Why? Didn't it learn it's lesson? "Zeus! Stand there and take the wrap, and as soon as the grip gets tight, THUNDER SHOCK baby." He screamed out, the excitement clearly getting to him. [break][break]

That is exactly what happened. Dratini wrapped him up like a Christmas present, and Zeus lit her up like a Christmas tree with Thunder Shock. The Dratini now visibly hurt, relinquished the grip it held on the Electabuzz and attempted to gather itself. Nope, it was time to try this again. "One more time..." Spade said, as he threw another Safari Ball at the damaged Dratini. Fucking stay this time.......

His eyes stared intently at the shaking PokeBall. He was waiting for it to explode out and smack him in the face with the PokeBall this time. Fortunately, the shaking persisted for three shakes and settled. The Dratini was captured. Spade walked over towards the Safari Ball and bent over to pick up. A smile fixed itself on his face as he looked at the newly caught Pokemon in his hand. "I am going to name you..." He thought... gathering ideas in his head, until he remembered a movie he watched a few years ago and thought the name fit perfectly. "DEEBO! Perfect, you will be a great Deebo I think." He said excitedly, his hand hooking the now shrunk down PokeBall to his belt. "Let's go Zeus. We'll explore for a bit more before we head back to rest. Hopefully we can find a cheap place to stay... Seeing as all my money is gone." He sarcastically cried out. [break][break]

Four down... Two more to go. His Pokemon team was coming along quite well. Despite the rapidness in which he caught his team so far, the Virus member was quite proud of his team so far. The only one he had a bit of confusion about was Truffles, the Swinub. Though, he had faith that he would surprise him. It wasn't long ago when he met the Swinub, and saw the spunk that he showed when he battled his Charmander. He would need to trust in Truffles and allow him to grow into the potential beast that Spade wanted him to become. [break][break]

The quest for Champion wasn't just a dream anymore, it was a work in progress. One had to aim high, set his goals, and then orient himself properly. It was the path that Spade desired, and it was something that he was going to give his all to accomplish. He was ready to face the challenges and the setbacks, more then willing to take on loses as long as they turned to lessons, it would build his character and build his team in the process. "I think we're ready for our first gym... Or at least, almost ready. We'll see, I'd still rather my team get used to each other first." He said aloud, walking in a random direction hoping to bump into another Pokemon he had yet to meet.

As they made their way towards the exit of the Safari Zone, another Pokemon showed itself. Reaching for his PokeDex, Spade's eyes looked at the device to read the information along with what was being present verbally. It was a Sandile, a ground/dark type that enjoyed burrowing underneath the ground. Though Zeus's electric moves wouldn't do any damage to the Sandile, he had Low Kick which did double the damage to the ground type. It was a risk, but in order for him and his Pokemon to grow, risks were necessary. [break][break]

"Zeus, you're up one last time. Give it your all buddy, we're off to rest after this last battle." [break][break]

Zeus readied itself, watching the Sandile intently. The Sandile burrowed itself underneath the ground immediately, disappearing from the view of both pokemon and trainer. "Shit... this is the first time I've dealt with this move. I don't know how to predict this at all." Obviously the Sandile was targeting Zeus, but there were no signs that he was coming, or at least no signs that Spade had learned to recognize yet. [break][break]

"Zeus, just be on your toes. The minute you feel something, jump back!" He told his Pokemon, hoping that his instincts had been refined to the point of reacting in time. Unfortunately, this did not prove to be the case. As the Sandile erupted from the ground, Zeus was caught slippin' and was hit right in the chest. He landed on his back, but got up and shook it off. It did a good amount of damage, but it wasn't enough to keep him out for the count. [break][break]

"Quick, use Quick Attack before he burrows underneath the ground again!" He shouted, noticing how redundant that statement sounded out loud. Regardless, Zeus zoomed forth with speed that surprised the Sandile. Not many Pokemon or Trainers alike would think an Electabuzz to be capable of such movement, but it was. Zeus connected with the Sandile and partially gave back what it received from the earlier dig. [break][break]

The Sandile was sent back a few feet, and this gave him the opportunity to burrow underneath the ground once more. "Zeus, I have an idea. The moment it's head comes out of the ground, use Low Kick to interrupt the attack." He told him. Zeus understood what he had to do, and backed away a bit to give himself time to adjust. [break][break]

The Electabuzz waited patiently, all sounds around them fell silent, and he listened in on the ground moving beneath them. It was only a faint sound, but it gave him the opportunity to realize when the noise got close enough for him to react. Just as the sandile erupted from underneath the ground, Zeus positioned himself so well that the Low Kick that folloed completely caught the Sandile in the jaw and finished the battle right there. "Wow, that was beautifully done Zeus. You deserve a well rest, it's time to go." Zeus gave Spade a slight wink as it returned to the confines of it's PokeBall. The day had concluded, it had been successful and productive, a day like this needed a day of relaxing tomorrow. It was time to leave this wonderful Safari, and plan the rest of the adventure. TL;DR; Zeus defeated Sandile after a tough battle. Spade exits Safari Zone tired, but proud and pleased.
