A inhabitant of Kikyō City recommended Route 31 to Spade who was in search for a water type to add to his team. Though he didn't specifically know the name of the Pokemon that he was searching for, he knew how it looked. It was a small blue thing, that looked almost like a mini crocodile. He wasn't sure if he was going to find it around these parts, but he figured a pond with a forest around it would be a better spot than an ocean with a shore of sand. [break][break]
Moving on through Route 31, Spade enjoyed the relaxing walk that took him through the forest. The fresh air that he breathed in refreshed his entire being. Traveling lately had taken quite the toll on him, and even though he had yet to participate in a Gym Battle, the training he was doing with his Pokemon tired him out. He had hardly taken a break since his journey began. It wasn't like his life before become a Pokemon Trainer was easy either, but the freedom that he now possessed made it all much more bearable. It was nice that Team Virus understood that he liked to work at his own pace, and that he wasn't going to be controlled by anyone. Whether they let him rock because they knew of his family and their clout, or for other reasons, he didn't really know. The black haired man hardly put much thought into that subject. [break][break]
As his feet carried him deeper down the path, and further into Route 31, his eyes finally spotted the natural pond ahead. Despite it's size, it was said that the pond itself was extremely deep. It was no wonder that water Pokemon enjoyed themselves here. [break][break]
Spade knew who he was going to bring out to battle for him today, and it wasn't going to be Sköll. He needed to sharpen Zeus's skills, and what better of a place than a location filled with water types? Though, Deebo the Dratini had a chance to appear as well, so long as the Pokemon around here matched up unfavorably against him. [break][break]
His sharp hazel eyes scouted the area around him as he approached the pond. The clear water seemed very inviting, but Spade knew better than jumping into a deep source of water without knowing what was lurking underneath. Now, what would appear first...

It seemed Spade's luck had worn off a bit, as the first Pokemon he encountered wasn't even close to a water type. It was a Kakuna, a bug type, that later evolved into a Beedrill. Long story short, it wasn't anything Spade was interested in.[break][break]
"Deebo, it's your chance to shine! He sighed, releasing his Dratini from it's confinement. Out came out the sassy Pokemon, looking about like "this is what you pulled me out of my slumber for?" Spade simply glared at the damn thing, but instead of focusing on the Kakuna, Deebo looked right into Spade's eyes like "do something, I dare you". [break][break]
"Deebo, do you want me to put you back inside this PokeBall, and throw it into the bottom of the pond?" Clearly teasing the thing, but that's what it took to get it to listen. Good boy... he thought, as he examined the cocooned 'Mon. "Okay Deebo, use Twister" The Dratini responded in kind, launching a twisting attack that surrounded the Kakuna and damaging it a bit. [break][break]
All the Kakuna did in turn was utilize Harden, a move that Spade recognized from his recent battle against a Nuzleaf. "Deebo, one more time!" Another Twister shot off, damaging the Kakuna once more. All it did was use Harden again. "Well Deebo, at least you got some practice in with Twister, as it seems this Kakuna doesn't know anything else. Finish it off with one more!" He commanded. The Dratini releasing one last Twister which finally defeated the annoyance that was the Kakuna. [break][break]
"Deebo, we got a lot of training to do. That Twister won't do much for us down the line, but don't worry. Your sass more than makes up for it." The Dragon-type practically rolled it's eyes into the back of it's head before it was returned to the confinement of it's PokeBall. "I wonder what's next..." He whispered to himself.

As he walked the edge of the pond, he continued his path for a water type. Unfortunately, the next one that came his way was the cousin of the last Kakuna he fought. It was another cocooned Pokemon, this one known as Metapod. "If I paint him blue, I can pass him off as a water type, right?" He joked around, before reaching for Deebo's PokeBall. [break][break]
"I know I just brought you back, but you can handle another one of these guys. Though this one seems a bit tougher." He said as he released the Dratini from the PokeBall. Whether it was because Deebo had something to prove, or was just rather angry at how low Spade thought of him, it was ready to fight right off the bat. Despite being a sassy Pokemon, with enough refining, Spade would get to the potential that the Pokemon showed when he first met him. [break][break]
"Dratini! Use Leer!" The Dratini gave off a glare that shined forward, catching the Metapod and lowering his defense. The Metapod reacted with a String Shot. "This one actually has moves other than Harden?" The discovery caught the two of them by surprise, as the Dratini was caught in a sticky situation and couldn't move as well as before. [break][break]
"Dratini, try to free yourself and then use Twister!" He tried, but he didn't succeed fast enough. The Metapod came in hard with a tackle, and given its hard shell, it damaged the Dratini more than one would assume. However, the tackle shed Dratini off it's sticky confinement, allowing it to move freely once again. "Use Wrap! Quickly, before he backs away!" Deebo instantly threw it's tail and rest of it's body around the Metapod and started to wrap itself tighter and tighter. The earlier Leer proved to soften the Metapod's defenses, as the attack was doing more damage than the Metapod expected based on it's reaction. [break][break]
"Now, release yourself, jump back and use Twister!" Deebo moved almost flawlessly, letting the Metapod go from it's grip and jumping back. It released a howling Twister that enveloped the bug type and knocked him away and unconscious. "Good job, you can stay out here with me for a bit. Just don't get lost alright?" [break][break]
Spade began to walk along the edge of the Pond, just like before. Hoping to run into a water type before he concluded his day. [break][break]
TL;DR; Deebo the Dratini defeated the Metapod. Spade walked alongside the edge of the pond waiting to run into the next Pokemon.

[break][break] It had a Spider-like appearance and skirted along the water with elegance and ease. Spade used his PokeDex to capture the Pokemon's information and to reveal it's identity. It was a Surskit, a Bug/Water type that lived in areas like this. Interesting... Though it wasn't something that he wanted to capture, it would prove to be the final training session for Deebo before the two packed it home. [break][break] " Deebo, use Leer." Spade ordered. [break][break] The Dratini released the attack from its eyes, capturing the Surskit in its glare. The attack had lowered the monsters defense significantly. Surskit retaliated with Bubble, releasing a streamline of bubbles that caught Dratini right on the nose. The attack didn't do much, but it annoyed him. " TWISTER" Deebo would shake off the previous attack, and summon forth a whirlwind of air and rocks that would envelop the Surskit's entire small body. [break][break] The Surskit would be lifted into the air, cut up by the attack and dropped back to the ground. The attack had left the Pokemon defeated, and unable to continue. Dratini was the victor. Spade would return his Dratini to it's PokeBall and return to his Motel to rest for the night. Overall, a great, productive day of training—yet no Pokemon were found to add to his team.
